Thin skin and sores

Hi, I'm have a sore (I think it's open, not sure) on the upper part of my leg where I sit. I understand I think that diabetics have thinner skin, or something like that.

Am wondering what type of medicine I can put on it to heal it?

Ever hear of Amerigel? I think it's a prescription, I was given a sample and it worked miracles.

No, I never heard of it. I'm so glad you posted that. I'll ask my doctor about it.

This is the first time since I've been a diabetic that something is starting to occur, on the outside, which scares me some, well alot.

Winds up that it's an open sore and infected so was put on antibiotics for it.

How is going with your sore now?

Well Rut, it's so sweet of you to ask. The doctor put a bandage on it, a big one, with some cream, and I have yet to take it off which is bad. So I haven't been applying the cream at all which I should and the bandage should have come off over 5 days ago at least.

It hurts to sit and I pray I get the bandage off tonight. I know it's going to be painful to take it off, which is why I haven't done it yet.
