My grandpa worked for the AF in San Antonio after he finished his service in Korea.

What was interesting is that my grandpa's unit was one of the ones Band of Brothers was about but until I was about 11 did I know he had served in the Army and not in AF.

June 18 - GAZA: And Nobody Saw it Coming??! The ghost of Yaser Arafat lives on as his successor, Mahmoud Abbas, is simply Arafat in a $1,000 suit. The stripes on a leopard don't change easily. In the Islamic world, they hardly ever do. But to Abbas' credit back in January 2006, while under extreme U.S. pressure to have "free Palestinian elections," Abbas earnestly sought to delay them sensing Hamas would come to power as they did.

So the brutal reign of Hamas began, duly elected. The White House and State Department insisted on the elections, sure that the "curative powers of democracy" would solve many issues. Rice later stated, "Nobody saw it coming," meaning the win by Hamas.

The Israelis pulled one of the most foolish geo-political acts of the 21st century by pulling all Israelis out of Gaza two years ago. History should have taught them that whenever they pull out of any area, even Lebanon in 2000, it will then get infested with barbarians.

So radicals are now in charge of Gaza, a 140-square-mile strip of land on the Mediterranean Sea along Israel's western border that is packed with more than 1.2 million people, most of them desperately poor and some trying to flee to Israel. Hamas came out on top for now. Hamastan will become "terror central" in the Middle East, all because Israel acted with good but foolish intent in the fall of 2005.

So now both Israel and America are squarely behind Abbas' Fatah organization. Abbas' Fatah funds the al-Aksa Martyrs Brigade, a terror outfit that has spilled as much blood as Hamas has. Nonetheless, when Olmert meets with the President this week, the topic will be shoring up Abbas and Fatah, talk about giving up more land, and peace at any price--elusive peace only attainable from the Prince of Peace.

As Christian commentator Jack Kinsella states, "The entire scenario is the result of the global adoption of the simplistic and moronic notion that there is a difference between a 'moderate' terrorist and an 'extremist' terrorist."

The U.S. is backing Abbas with aid and military assistance. Israel's government will do everything possible to preserve that regime as well. Clearly, Israel's worst enemies are her own leaders who, as secular humanists, believe in the basic goodness of man if treated fairly.

Over the years billions of dollars of aid have been donated to the Palestinian Authority and much of it has been your tax dollars and mine. In 2006, the Palestinians collected more Western aid per capita than any other people on earth. Most of it was stolen by the leadership and put away in private banks in Europe. Arafat set that tone and Abbas has followed suit.

How will things change? Fatah still is a criminal gang, and it inevitably acts like one. They are not religious fanatics such as Hamas but both outfits are brutal terrorist organizations. Abbas earned his doctorate on the fact that the Holocaust was a myth.

Joel Rosenberg says, "It's too early to say for certain, but even at this early stage two things are clear: 1) Iran's efforts to surround Israel and prepare to 'wipe Israel off the map' have just been significantly advanced and thus the prospect for a full-blown war in the Middle East this summer or fall now seems more likely; and 2) U.S. politicians had better think twice about a precipitous withdrawal of American military forces in Iraq before the Iraqis are ready unless they want a repeat of the nightmare in Gaza." (NOTE: We now carry new products by Joel and others here http://www.olivetreeviews.org/catalog.shtml#others This includes his new DVD "Epicenter.")

Oh yea...the vast "zionist conspiracy to control the world" got Hamas (who is openly declaring and sworn to destroy Israel) to attack Fatah and now offers their leaders amnesty?

Do you believe that line of "logic" is going to sway anyone who thinks for themselves?

Who funded Bin Ladin? The US . . what does the source of funding have to do with loyalty? It's not uncommon for a source to turn against what it funded, either abandoning it or turning against it ourright.

Sorry, but no cigar.

Why climb a tree to promote a lie when the truth is staring at you on the ground? [/qoute]

What truth? What truth are you promoting? Why are you doing what you argue against?

I don't doubt that Israel minds these bloodthirsty terrorist groups killing each other...but backing hamas?

The Zionist state that calls itself Israel, which has nothing to do with ancient Israel or the ancient Jewish nation, wants this to happen . it is in thier best interests.

The reports I see indicate they and the US are backing Fatah.

And how does that mean at one time it was not Hamas?

Oh yea,,,,I forgot...the "vast zionist conspiracy" is backing both sides of every war today and throughout history.

Oy!

Since Zionism is a relatively new development, your argument has nothing to commend itself to us.

It was probably a good idea at the time. Things change.

You just repudiated your earlier argument. :) Thank you.

You're delusional.

And now you make the same mistake, TWICE!!!!

What does delusional mean? Out of touch with reality.

When you decide to become in touch with real history, let me know.

In the 1980s they were fighting for the freedom of Afghans from an un-provoked Russian invasion. I see nothing wrong with supporting that. Things were different then.

By the 90s, they were only mercenary pirates seeking to impose sharia law on the entire world and subjugate the nation of Afghanistan to the taliban.

By 2001, all they want is the murder of 4 million americans (as stated in Osama's fatwah) and the overthrow of all nations who will not submit to Wahhabist islam

You know this yet purposely attempt to obfuscate the issue and blame America for the crimes of these terrorists

why is that?

MM has not at all done any such thing. You are simply refusing to read what is actually said and draw the logical conclusions.

When a racist murders someone for their race, is it the victim's fault for being that race?

There is no justification for targeting unarmed civilians for murder. There were no other targets in the WTC.

Then why did the founders of Israel target unarmed civilians for murder? Why did they act against the Palestinian people as the terrorist do today against Israel?

Why was it alright for Israeli terrorist back then to act this way, but it is not OK for the Palestinian terrorists to do so?

You hold a double standard. And it appears to be racially motivated.

Until you can prove that Osama is lying about Al Queda being behind the 911 attacks, we will have to take his word for it.

Which means an organization which the US built and funded was the origin of the attack.

Again...how can it be that both Al Queda and the USA brought down the Twin Towers? Or is it the vast zionist conspiracy again?

Are you trying to change the topic of this thread?

Why don't you explain to us how Israeli terrorism is OK, but Palestinian terrorism is not . . . . . . ?

trying to hold a straight face here.

You are such a smart American...oh wait are you? Naturalized yet?

Honestly, unless you do (and I doubt it) have American citizenship your view matters not.

Let me get this straight . .

If someone is not an American citizen, they are somehow less deserving of respect than other human beings are who ARE American citizens?

I thought all human beings were made in the image of God and that God is not a respector of persons.

Why are you being a respector of persons, denying validity to one's opinion and ideas simply becaues they are not American?

How very uncharitable and contrary to what the word of God teaches . .. . .

This is still a Christian site, no? But we can be prejudicial against someone simply because they are not an American Citizen?

How so?

How is it that MM's view matters not UNLESS he is a citizen of the US?

How so TM?

Since when did you become judge and jury as to whose views matter?

I could care less what you think to assume about America.

I am sure others feel the same way about what you think to assume about America.

Came for the jews...let me go ask my uncle the Rabbi about that.

Have to put you on ignore now

You have no clue what MM was quoting, do you . . . . .

Is the state of Israel about the Jews? How many ethnic jews live there? How many lived there in 1948?

Those are excellent questions HD!

Now, do you mean by ethnic Jews those who are racially Jews?

How many Jews were racially Jews in 1948 in the area called Israel? Now many in comparison to the numbers of those descended from European converts.

Is the State of Israel about the Jews? No, its not.

It's about Zionism.

What does Zionism mean? That's the billion dollar question. It does not mean what most Christians who support the State of Israel think it means.

To answer that question will take time .. . I will be in an out for a little bit, so forgive me that I don't tackle it now.

Zionism, the national movement for the return of the Jewish people to their homeland and the resumption of Jewish sovereignty in the Land of Israel, advocated, from its inception, tangible as well as spiritual aims. Jews of all persuasions, left and right, religious and secular, joined to form the Zionist movement and worked together toward these goals. Disagreements led to rifts, but ultimately, the common goal of a Jewish state in its ancient homeland was attained. The term "Zionism" was coined in 1890 by Nathan Birnbaum.

Apparently every other country in the world has a right to exist except Israel, regardless of the circumstances surrounding its inception. Go back and dig through US history and from the French, British and Native American perspectives, we were terrorists too. Every bloody country on the planet has violent beginnings where the other side got their feelings hurt. Its called history.

So it was founded for Jews to have a home state which they once had long ago?
Many christians think God arranged that.
Some say Jewishness is a religion, not ethnicity.
I am trying to learn here.
Pretty much the gist of it.

Better than the Air Force!!!

I am not sure I could handle a Jar Head. It's bad enough to deal with the Navy.

I am just so proud of him over there and the others. They are serving this nation with much honor and pride. Unlike SOME who think they can insult my heirtage and love for my country, I uphold this truths to be self evident and know that we have issues and problems. I am simply not afraid or filled with paranioa.

I am proud of you.
hey now...my zoomie SSgt daddy raised a Marine... :p He did such a good job on me, that I passed it on and my daughter is now a Marine :D
