  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

"There they go telling on themselves again."

Minor attracted person, a disturbing phrase used by Dr. Allyn Walker to describe a pedophile or sex abuser to minors. What if we called murderers “life takers?” Or embezzlers “money shifters?” What if we used the term “others’ property preferrers” for purse-snatchers? Obviously, these phrases are awkward and confusing. Worse, they are a disservice to crime victims and contrary to the truth.

Why do we feel this way? In large part, because they mask or minimize the pain caused by these crimes. What on earth prompted us to even conjure up these odd terms? It was an Associated Press article headlined “Professor Gets New Job After Pedophilia Research Caused Stir.”

Yes. Another way to throw the real victims in the trash heap.
Many of you know my brother and I were destroyed by a pedo. He isn't a poor, suffering, simple little MAP who just wants to live in peace. Dude is the worst liar and most vile human I've ever personally known in my life. He like all pedos just wanted to get his rocks off and took pleasure in the pain. They're all sick. And so are their defenders. They just want to do this stuff without risking jail or having literally any sane individual hate them.

And it urinates me the heck off (my attempt at bless and do not curse). The gay community loves young boys. It's literally a fetish many of them have. I watch a group of predator catchers who EVERY DAY confront gay men who have solicited minors online. Every day there's new confrontations. They're everywhere. People vs Preds and Predator Poachers on Rumble. My brother was having sex with adult black men from 16 years old when he was relocated to Chicago following the outing of the events that happened to us. He ended up in a long term relationship with one of them, and when he was in his very early 20s the guy beat him so badly he was hospitalized. Probably didn't like him anymore since he wasn't a kid.

Agreed. It's basically Stockholm Syndrome. But he called it a relationship in his confusion. There's no real gay relationships either. It's disordered.

Well it seems that it only makes sense to try to normalize it. I mean, we’ve come this far. Why should they stop now?

Conservatives and normal people in general sat back for a long time and hardly put up a fight when it came to LGBT indoctrination campaigns and agendas. It's when it became clear that they're after kids that this successful fighting back started. So, I think we'll see firing squads in the streets before these people can get it normalized. Don't mess with people's kids.

It's interesting that I only ever see you "counter misinformation with truth" when it's about leftist ideologies, of course in favor of the leftism. That doesn't seem like truth to me - that seems like agenda.
It probably has something to do with conservatives and those with right leaning ideologies spreading the most misinformation and fake news.

Most studies suggest that right-wing people (also conservatives or Republicans) tend to be less accurate in discerning fake news.

Through various methods, studies were consistent in revealing a greater vulnerability to fake news from conservatives and right-wing people. Even in studies that have observed that motivated political reasoning can affect both sides of politics, we find that conservatives or right-wing people are often more likely to believe and share fake news.

Most studies have shown that right-wing people or conservatives (vs. liberals) are less able to discern fake news. This trend was not found, at least with the same evidence, for liberals or left-wing people in any study.

Conservatives are less able to distinguish political truths from falsehoods than liberals, mainly because of a glut of right-leaning misinformation... Both liberals and conservatives tend to make errors that are influenced by what is good for their side, But the deck is stacked against conservatives because there is so much more misinformation that supports conservative positions. As a result, conservatives are more often led astray.

Participants with liberal and conservative political beliefs both shared erroneous news stories to a certain degree. But conservatives who also scored low on conscientiousness engaged in such behavior to a greater extent – they were more likely than liberals or more conscientious conservatives to share misleading information, the research found.

Conscientiousness refers to a person’s propensity to be diligent, reliable, dutiful, cautious, control their impulses and follow social norms...

Research Pinpoints the Role of Personality in Sharing of ‘Fake News’

Highly impulsive people who lean conservative are more likely to share false news stories.

In a series of eight studies with a total of 4,642 participants, we examined whether low-conscientiousness conservatives (LCCs) disseminate more misinformation than other conservatives or low-conscientiousness liberals.

Both liberals and conservatives sometimes saw false stories as accurate. This error was likely driven in part by their wanting certain stories to be true because they aligned with their beliefs.

But actually sharing false news was markedly higher among LCCs compared with everyone else in the study.

We ran another study that involved explicitly telling participants that an article they wanted to share was inaccurate. People then had the chance to change their choice. Not only did LCCs still share fake news at a higher rate than others in the study, but they also were comparatively insensitive to direct warnings that the stories they wanted to share were false.

The fact checkers are not trustworthy either. Again, you cannot debate here and continue to constantly derail threads because you see yourself as the truth police.

You're not fooling anyone. You've never heard of this Twitter account with a mere 211 followers in the entire world. You saw something you didn't like because it made your leftist ideology look bad, so you investigated it to disprove it at all costs to protect your clan. Nothing really even points to the account being fake. A lot of people use stock images rather than their own. You're assuming it's fake because you want it to be fake because you don't like it.

You're correct, I had no idea that account existed until I came across it in your thread.

You saw something you didn't like because it made your leftist ideology look bad, so you investigated it to disprove it at all costs to protect your clan.
What I saw was a fake tweet posted by and obvious troll account that was intended to cause strife and discord among those who read it. Since it was shared on a public Christian forum it makes Christianity look bad in they eyes of the unbelieving world. I pointed it out to in an attempt to protect our witness.

Nothing really even points to the account being fake. A lot of people use stock images rather than their own. You're assuming it's fake because you want it to be fake because you don't like it.
The use of stock images is one of the primary indications that an account is fake.

One of the first signs of a fake Twitter profile - or any other social media account - is the use of a stock image for the profile picture. Fake accounts usually won't use their own images as profile pictures - they either use someone else's picture without their consent or use a free stock image from the internet. (Source)

The first and foremost sign to check for a fake Twitter or any other social media account is the profile picture. Fake accounts and bots won’t use their own images as profile pictures, so this way, you can easily differentiate them from the real ones. (Source)

What are Fake Social Media Accounts?

Fake social media accounts are profiles that are either not associated with a real person or are created with an actual person’s personal information without their consent. These accounts are usually called imposter accounts or sock puppet accounts. The latter is mainly used to describe accounts run by people to praise themselves and criticize others.

Scammers create fake social media accounts for various reasons, including:

To impersonate you or others
To extort money from your followers through scams (usually by pretending that the original owner of the account is in trouble and needs donations)
To harass people online
To spread false information – usually political – and hate speech
To leave false reviews or complaints about brands and their products/services
To destroy a person’s reputation

Most, if not all, of the major social media platforms (i.e. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest, YouTube, and Snapchat) are plagued with fake accounts.
(Source)

BTW, the account you shared the tweet from no longer exists: https://twitter.com/blunomatterwho

The fact checkers are not trustworthy either.
That may be true in some instances, but in the case of the tweet found in the OP, no fact checker is required; it was obviously a troll account that was created to create strife and discord.

As for the image in comment #3, once again fact checkers aren't necessary. Here's a video that can be found on the Minnesota House of Representatives official Youtube channel that proves the headline and wording of the Fox News article is misleading starting around the 2:25 mark.

Again, you cannot debate here and continue to constantly derail threads because you see yourself as the truth police.
Why wouldn't you want someone to point out false or misleading information on a Christian forum? Shouldn't we all, as members of the Body of Christ, be doing this; or would you prefer it go unchecked?

“All of us are responsible for the communications we make, for the information we share, for the control that we can exert over fake news by exposing it. All of us are to be witnesses of the truth: to go, to see and to share...

Lord, teach us to move beyond ourselves,
and to set out in search of truth.
Teach us to go out and see,
teach us to listen,
not to entertain prejudices
or draw hasty conclusions.
Teach us to go where no one else will go,
to take the time needed to understand,
to pay attention to the essentials,
not to be distracted by the superfluous,
to distinguish deceptive appearances from the truth.
Grant us the grace to recognize your dwelling places in our world
and the honesty needed to tell others what we have seen."
