There Are No Jobs Americans Won’t Do

There are no occupations in the United States in which a majority of workers are illegal immigrants.
Illegal immigrants work mostly in construction, cleaning, maintenance, food service, garment manufacturing, and agricultural occupations. However, the majority of workers even in these areas are either native-born or legal immigrants.

Only 4 percent of illegal immigrants and 2 percent of all immigrants do farm work. Immigrants (legal and illegal) do make up a large share of agricultural workers — accounting for half or more of some types of farm laborers — but all agricultural workers together constitute less than 1 percent of the American work force.
Many occupations often thought to be worked overwhelmingly by immigrants (legal and illegal) are in fact majority native-born:

The defenders of illegal aliens — ethnic advocacy groups, employer groups, and church-based groups — often assert that illegal aliens only take jobs unwanted by U.S. workers. This is patently false because they are working in jobs in which U.S. workers are also employed — whether in construction, agricultural harvesting or service professions.

One recent estimate by researchers at the Pew Hispanic Center puts the number of illegal aliens in the workforce at 8 million out of an overall population of 11.2 million illegal aliens, i.e., 71.4 percent.1 That estimate is generally accepted as reasonable.

Those United States citizens that say they cannot find a job or a good job should take those statistics above into account.

I'm not getting your point. There is no person in the US
who thinks work will not get done without illegals. I doubt
many thought that illegals made up more than half.

But having worked in a number of wisconsin factories
there are jobs that employ people on and off and the
illegal residents take these temporary positions that
most do not want.

Having employed americans myself while an apartment
manager, they can be lazy as hill. I'd have been pleased
as punch to find somebody who seeks work badly enough
to swim here. I could have taught them my job before
I moved on.

There are no jobs Americans will not do......so long as they are receiving legal wages and in work conditions compliant with the law.

Why do you think so many American employers hire unskilled foreign workers for these jobs? (hint: Trump's theme song has the answer) Do you not find it incongruent that Republican politicians have aggressively, though stealthily, advocated to substantially increase the number of H-2B visas enabling American employers to hire foreign workers, when as your thread title states, there are no jobs Americans will not do? Despite substantial evidence that employers regularly abuse the program, and despite the fact that the largest percentage of illegal immigrants in the United States are visa overstays, in 2018 a trio of Republican senators pushed to double the number of these visas issued. Senator Tillis has been a regular proponent of the H-2B program, attempting to increase the visa cap as long as he has been in the Senate; his state of North Carolina is one of the largest benefactors. Many Democrats have been in opposition to the program because it is a tool employers can use to exploit vulnerable foreign workers, forcing them to work in hazardous conditions, and represses wages for American workers by providing a cheap, below minimum wage labor source for companies.

Despite his bombastic rhetoric, Donald Trump has consistently hired foreign workers for his properties, and most are from Central America. There is no way that in all this time he's oblivious to that fact. Even Fox News reported on Mar-a-Lago hiring foreign workers. State and federal investigators are examining if Trump's golf clubs hired undocumented workers.

According to data from Homeland Security, the vast majority of immigrants who enter the country do so legally. Visa overstays account for about two-thirds of the total number of people joining the undocumented population in the United States. Homeland Security's data has also shown that illegal border crossings represent a relatively small share of the number of people who enter the country, legally or otherwise, and that they've dropped dramatically (90%) since 2000.
