Hey guys. my band is writing some music, but im having trouble thinking of some christian themes to write about..

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I don't have any ideas for themes, but I do have a suggestion. Don't write sugar coated crap. You know, like a lot of Christian artists out there write a lot of fluff, and you can never be sure whether their singing about their bf/gf or if their singing about their relationship with Christ.
Don't get me wrong, there are a lot of awesome Christian artists out there, but some of the songs are super cheesy. I would suggest listening to Christian artists that are similar to the type of music that you play and see if you can get some inspiration off of there. Obviously, dont copy their ideas, but its might be helpful to get some inspiration. Or, just write about your own walk with God, like where He has brought you and stuff.

One short lived band I was a techie for had these for some song themes:
* How even the flowers of the field will pass away, but God endures
* How we so often try to out shine God, but only through his help can we truly shine.
* How things always get better when we turn to God and run to him
* Focusing on God during the race of life with the path marked out for us
They basically pulled out some of their favorite scripture verses and made songs over those themes.
