"I agree about how life is made meaningless if you believe in naturalistic evolution."
God is man's greatest invention. A psycological tool to help us deal with the fear of our own mortality. Why must life be meaningless without an afterlife? Is life not enough? Go out and live your lives, if you believe you are real "Christians", what are you doing with computers to have internet to go on these forums? Give up all your possessions and go help the poor. Hypocrites is all you all are
God is not man's invention. Man is God's invention. Life that happened as a series of mutations and accidents by definition has no purpose. If you can have a meaningful life without purpose, more power to you. I can't do it.
I KNOW I am a real Christian. I have a computer and internet in order to make sure that the non-believers at least have enough information to make an informed decision. That way, at your judgment, you can't honestly say, "I didn't know."
I do live my life. I have NO FEAR of death. I welcome it when it comes. I know what comes after, because I've seen it. We may be hypocrites (I honestly don't know anyone who isn't in one way or another.) Hypocrites are people who put on a face, who don't show openly who they are. In the ancient Greek language, they are actors with masks. We all wear masks.
But at least I know beyond the shadow of a doubt Who created me, and that I have purpose - only because HE gave me purpose.
Tell me something. If you became convinced that you were wrong, would you change the way you live your life? If not, you are not an unbeliever, you are rebellious. If you would change, you owe it to yourself to be sure.
I wouldn't change a thing. I lived for 38 years without Christ. I've lived for 3.5 years with Him. I have been happier, more fulfilled, and more at peace in the past 3.5 years than I ever was before. If I became convinced that I was wrong - that there is no afterlife, no God - I would still live this life. Not because I'd want to lie to myself, but because I have lived more in three years than I did for almost 40 BC (Before Christ).
