Scarlet sat and watched the scenes unfold before her she was beginning to get that nervous feeling in the pit of her stomache, in was 8:15 pm and this train just hit 14th street and she still had too many stops to go.
She heard the conductor make an announcement....there will be a 15 minute delay, there seems to be something going on in the city and we are on a standby, the light is red in the tunnel.
Everyone around her began to moan above the sound of loud music and the man on the floor kept speaking loudly in a strange language.
She tried to listen and it stirred something within her but she put her ipod on and shut out the noise something in her would not let his words penetrate her mind.


Enrique looked at the skinny girl dancing and partying with the other cute girl...he signaled his friend as they both went over. "Looks like we will have to start celebrating here ladies, I'm Rico and you are?" He took both girls hands in his and kissed both hands one at a time.
He glanced at the older woman and winked and blew her a kiss as well.


Amos felt his body rising slowly from the floor as if a force was raising him from his knees and telling him to rise.
He did and the tongues grew richer in the sound that resonated from within him as if the voice was no longer his, it was a booming sound growing within him.
And suddenly the words came.
"Prepare ye the way of the Lord, Prepare ye the way of the Lord."
The sound of his voice was so loud that the girls stopped dancing and stared as if they had been struck.
The music on the radio station stopped as an announcer said, "This just in a strange story is making record breaking news, bodies of deceased individuals have disappeared all over the world. One funeral home director said the body vanished right before his eyes."
Amos looked around the train for he heard the announcement in his soul and knew what was about to take place. He noticed others in the train but some of them had a strange glow above them and he saw those individuals in a different light and they all acknoledged each other silently.
They knew, all of those with that strange glow above them knew that at any minute...................................

Scarlet pulled her ipod out of her ears and looked around her as she heard some people on the train praying aloud, like a hummmmmm of an engine their prayers were in sync. For the first time she noticed a group of people who all held Bibles in their hands they had sat quietly but now she noticed them and they were standing and praying a sound that radiated within ....and it caused her to tremble, she wanted to run from the train.
She reached for her Buddha beads she still carried them, she was about to chant but the hummmm of the prayers started to frenzy and the beads flew out of her hands as if ripped from her very clutch.
She looked at the boy who called himself Rico and she saw that his eyes too were wide, with fear, she saw the girls had stopped dancing and they too looked frightened, but the one girl with the one dancing the friend who had been quiet and almost shy she was now standing and praying aloud with the others as if in a frenzy a passion. She turned and noticed Esther the woman who had been so quiet and scared of her husband she too was standing and praying like in a trance, no fear no longer a victim but looking like......a conqueror, and she saw the womans husband cowering in a corner, like a caged animal looking for an escape.
Scarlets heart began to race what was happening.....she wanted to fall on the floor, bend to her knees and ask God to save her help her she was terrified, but there was no God, she learned that years ago, when all her abuse began, her father's abuse.
She wanted to scream you never helped me....but she couldn't move....where could she go what should she do....a voice was beckoning her, as if it was saying come to me, you can trust me but another voice, deeper and darker said in her mind....there is no God.
She wanted to scream, she opened her mouth.........but nothing came out...as if she had been struck dumb.
She looked around once more and saw a strange glow in the train car and she realized this was not her imagination because she saw others looking on as she was some in terror others those who had been praying they looked as if they too were aglow.

Esther appreciated the fact that others wanted to help her but she knew that if she left it would be so much worse for her. She had never worked outside the home and had no skills. How would she get a job at her age?

Suddenly it didn't seem to matter any more. Hearing the man who was calling for repentance stirred the Holy Spirit within her. She began praising God in a loud voice. "Jesus, my precious Jesus! How wonderful you are! Praise your precious name! I love you Lord! I worship you precious Jesus."

The very air seemed to be charged with electricity! There was an excitement that was so amazingly strong it was beyond description. She glanced at Roy and saw him glowering at her. Instead of shrinking back in fear, she knelt at his side. "Please Roy, don't keep rejecting Jesus, He loves you and wants to save you. Won't you please give Him your heart? Can't you feel the change in the air? Don't you want to go to Heaven?" By now tears were streaming down her face. Angry beyond control now Roy raised his hand to strike his wife......

Scarlet, watched as the young boy grabbed the old man and plunged the knife into him, but as she looked closer she saw his hand hit the train door.
She stood up on impulse, her body started trembling.
Where did the man go, his clothes lay in a pile on the floor. She looked for Esther she too had vanished. She took out her water and looked at it. She had not taken any pills she smelled the water, had she been spiked with drugs. But as she stood there a cold reality started to seep in, she knew it in her heart, she had heard about it the "Rapture" the Jesus freaks had told her about. But at this moment she wondered if they were really freaks or if she was losing her mind.
All around her everyone was screaming and crying and people were missing and piles of clothes were everywhere. Scarlet fell to the floor in a heap and began screaming and crying. She knew as she cried aloud "Oh God help us we have been Left Behind."
