i got the Ultimate x-men #s 2 and 3 at the library today. they were good. Wolverine tried to kill cyclops on a mission so that he could get Jean. Jean, the telepath she is, kind of figured it out, and stopped trusting wolverine. then cyclops was magically saved and somehow his 8 broken bones mended quickly and they all went off to kill magneto. cyclops hen gets to bet up wolverine and kick him out of the x-men. but they make up...and wolerine goes back

an interesting side note,Wolverine thinks his name is Logan, but in Ultimate he finds out that that isn't true and his name is really Jim something. he fought in WWII with captain america, before he got his claws...

Yeah, I remember in the first X-Men movie Wolverine told Rogue that his real name was Logan.

but it isn't, its Jim. he just thinks its Logan

 

[Konnie]

I wonder why he thinks his name is Logan.

probably all the brainwashing jazz

You mean by Stryker when he got his claws.

 

[Nienor]

yeah, sort of
in the comics (to my understanding) he was born with his claws, and was turned into a weapon by the Canadian gov't. he later left to join the xmen

So the metal coated his claws.

 

[Nienor]

i'm not sure. thats the part where i'm confused

 

[Konnie]

Maybe when the Canadian government turned him into a weapon, they coated his claws with adamantium to protect them.

The movie implies that Logan got his claws in the Weapon X program. In the comics, the claws are part of his mutation -- only the adamatium was added.

In the end of X2, Pyro decides to stay with Magneto in the Brotherhood. In the comics Pyro was a Brotherhood member, never a student of Xavier's.

in the comics Rogue was a member of the brotherhood and then later went to the xmn when she couldn't control her powers and wanted help.
its ok though, it builds the story and unless you have read te comics it doesn't really matter because you don't know

From Logan's biography, he's a lot older than he looks. It must be his healing factor that keeps him looking young,

yeah. but the thing that doesn't make sense is why does he stay mid 30s looking. his powers didn't come out until puberty, but why didn't he stay that age?

 

[Konnie]

I don't know. God works in mysterious ways.

i think Wolverine is one of the more intriguing characters because his character changes from series to series. Like in Uncanny XMen he is a Canadian gov't "secret weapon" that switches sides. but in Ultimate XMen he is an assassain from Magneto sent to kill Xavier, but has a change of heart.

Yeah. It's intriguing that he can turn from bad to good and vice versa.
