When I was young and didn't know better I thought the show was great. I think I've seen every show, in fact The X files was one of my favorit shows. Even though the cases were considered fiction, I belief that the show in which it was based on such as the concept of the unexplain, demons, especualy alians, and other weid subjects is very destracting to christian and to non believers. For me and to maby other christians or just anyone in general the show made us question that maby there is somthing was out there or do ghost really exist. I guess I can so say the show was brain washing. The X Files in my opinion was just another of Satan's theme to lead God's people wondering. Signs and wonders.

I don't think it's "demonic" I think it's a fictional storyline that was occasionally quite interesting and amusing. If someone feels something effects them negatively by all means they should avoid it.

Personally I'm not collecting it on DVD, I just don't like it enough to spend money on it like that.

I loved the show when it was on and still watch the reruns. I don't think of it as demonic. I basically view secular tv as just that. I don't expect constant Christain themes and morals from secular shows. I take what I see with a grain of salt. You can basically pull apart anything on secular tv and call it demonic. I agree with the statement if it cause you to stumble , or is a problem for you , then you shouldn't watch it. I can watch the X Files, but there are other shows that I cannot watch, that I am sure some other people may not have a problem with. I think it is more of a personal issue.

The problem with the X files is that does effect people who dont know better, especally young poeple who see the very show much real when it is'nt even thow we are told that it is just fiction. Childen these days have a way of imagining things. We only get them from what we've seen and what we've heard. Rememder as kids we thought of monster in the closet, under the bed or in any other parts in the rooms. Well Truly there wasn't and in fact we might have been just scaring our selves.

Well in fictional or in horror movies we call it entertainment. In The X Files I saw it as just pure entertainment. But what about kids or young adults, christain or none christain taking the concepet a little to far. Do you know that some people today actaully believe to have seen or have been aducted from aliens in other words they LIE about seeing them then adverties the concept that they exist. Dont anyone think thats psychologically mest up? Like I said some movies and shows are supose to be entertainment. The point is people take them a little seriously. Is it dangerous and to specialy christains to believe in false wonders? Yes.
Is The X files demonic? Maby not Intentionally. I dont think the writers saw any harn into it.

I was a big time X File fan - watched every episode and had the movie. it made for good entertainment and some of the plots were so far fetched that they were ridiculously funny. Of course, Gillian Anderson had nothing to do with my wanting to watch it either....

I think the problem with young kids watching the show is just that. Parents need to be aware of what their children are watching and how it may effect them. Adults however can watch it with more objectivety than some youger viewers. I don't watch much tv however what I do watch, I don't take seriously. If it causes that much of an effect on someone, then may be anything would. I would have to question if they are aware of who they are, and what they believe if they can be so easily influenced.

I was a huge fan of this show when it was on, but kind of lost interest around the last couple of seasons. I thought it was really well written, I love the humour and Mulder-Scully banter.

I don't know if I'd watch it today, simply because I've gone off crime shows in general. For me personally, watching show after show about people being raped and murdered, and then having graphic autopsies, is more disturbing than the supernatural themes in shows like The X-Files. But other people can handle crime shows. Although, I think that The X-Files generally had enough light-hearted banter to make the more gruesome aspects of the show a bit more tolerable.

Anyway, no, I don't think it's demonic, and the only thing that would stop me watching it today is the blood-and-gore killing aspect (which runs rampant in other shows, but never seems to be jumped on as an issue).

I absolutely love this show. I think it is fun and well written and very enjoyable. It is miles better than a large percentage of what is on tv these days...

As for the whole demonic issue... some episodes dealt with demons/worship of Satan but the show never at any point condoned it... in fact it always came out against such practices... in fact, I did see some Christian morals at many points throughout the show and there was often a strong Christian message, especially from some of Scully's experiences...

The X-Files is the best show ever! I have all the seasons on DVD, in fact, I am watching it now. Although I know a lot of people in my church would disagree with me, I think it asked a lot of questions that others were not willing to explore. While at times it's views on Christianity were a little off, the issue of faith was one of the main themes which ran through it's 9 amazing seasons. I have a BA in Theology and am currently in grad school for Christian studies and I love watching the show with my "theology brain" on! It's good exercise!;) The very last scene of the series finale left the viewers with the thought that the only hope for humanity is held within the symbol which Scully has always warn around her neck. Wow!
The Christianity Today website has some intriguing stories about the show. Just go to the site and type The X-Files into the site search. (I don't have enough posts to use a link):sorry:

Why do people think its satanic and stuff?
I don't know! It's not like it promotes anything to do with satanism, witchcraft, voodoo or anything else that most Christians would consider evil. In fact, I think it would deter people from experimenting with that stuff! I think people have more reason to be concerned about Harry Potter!
