iambren ... that's why I've moved to the love bases for morality. One can obey rules but still have an attitude that hurts people. The love based morality systems don't work well in a court because its can't be documented well. But love for personal realtionships works really well if we are authentic, listen and speak from our heart and a other good qualities. Which is why communication has been a major theme of mine for the last 7 yrs.

I have issues with obstetrics for similar reasons...they do not give the mothers all the information they need to make educated decisions. There is a place for epidurals but I doubt that they told you that you could drug up your baby with the meds or that it would most likely slow down your labor either and increase your risk for needing a c-section. They act like mothers can't handle the pain...it hurts but you forget it afterwards. I had two kids without meds. One was 10 lbs 3 oz and the other was 8 lbs 7 oz.

Oh, you probably couldn't eat until your intestines "woke up" from the medication....cause they get numbed up too. If they did you up good (which is sounds like they did based on your tiredness), then the time to wear off would have been longer.

Well it was actually a scheduled C-section but no they did not tell me I would be drugging the baby. But the pre-op nurse told me "oh they have sandwiches down there and everything" what she did NOT tell me is that you have to have a bowel movement or pass gas before you can eat. I couldn't even have juice until I finally BEGGED them. I had my son at 1:29pm but I wasn't allowed to eat after midnight. I felt starved LOL. And some friends brought me M&M's and I DID sneak some. because I was STARVED!

I am guessing that there are many other things about a c-section (schedule or not) that they didn't tell you either.

I think I would get fired if I worked in that area of the hospital because I believe that people have the right to be educated when things are being done because it is best for the patient and when things are being done that are most convenient for the hospital staff. Unfortunately, most seem to believe that they are one and the same thing.

Both my kids were scheduled C-sections. I am afraid of labor. I told the Dr. on my first visit, that I wanted a C-section and if he didn't want to do it, tell me now and I will look for a different Dr. It ended up on my first son that he was breach (good boy) so it was not an issue and the second time you can choose so I chose C-section again.
As far as the hospital and their policies, I feel like that is just the world we live in.
We are ruled by credit scores yet none of us can calculate our own.
We have lawyers that do our legal stuff because it's too complicated for us.
It's the same with Dr.s. To me they are just educated guestimators. They went to school, so if you have XYZ symptoms, you have either A,B or C. and since they went to school they always feel they know better than you (even though it's YOUR body) what's best for you. When in reality the nurse probably knows you better

well IDK about THE worst sin but it would not be a very smart move to [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse] off the one person that can help you in the hospital.

Okay...it is not the worst sin but it can make MY life more difficult...LOL.

Actually, I've never had any patient give me a hard time after I earned his/her trust by doing something lovely like washing and putting lotion on their feet...and took the time to explain why I needed them to do what ever it was that was uncomfortable or unpleasant... (except the screaming two year old, she didn't listen to "reason" even after I brought her several toys....but I can't blame her, every time those darn gloved hands touched her, they hurt her by putting in IV or stuff )

To be fair, she was crying before I walked into the room...and it was the ER personal that made her afraid of anyone in yellow gloves.

However, considering the situation, I'd have been more concerned if she wasn't crying...she was age appropriate and well enough to know that she didn't want to be touched by anyone she didn't know.

The kids that don't cry worry you more...they usually are very sick.

Hell blows my mind. It is so evil,gloomy,and hopeless I'm tempted to twist scripture to modify it.

To think of evil(the absence of good) presents a horrible place that is caught in misery AND in time. Here on earth people do evil things: microwaving babies,performing medical experiments on twins at Auschwitz,sadistic torture of women and children BUT there's an ending. You can go to their grave and say "Thank heaven it's over". But hell offers no such relief.

This reminds me when I was a Navy Medical Lab Tech. At this clinic ,I went outside for some sunshine and for some fresh air. I forgot to take off my white lab coat. A little boy and two ladies were walking toward me. I said, ""Hi!" to the little boy. Well, he had the look of terror on his little face, He stopped dead in his tracks. His eyes were very big , as Gene Wilder's eyes were in the movie, " Silver Streak". He took a huge breath.
He shouted, "DON'T GIVE ME SHOT!!!!" He began to cry afterward.

I felt bad, as I had no attention of scaring that child. When I did draw blood from children ,I had a way with them that they behaved and were not afraid. The little girls trusted me more and did not cry. Most of the little boys were afraid and they fought me.

Yes, I was a corpsman, an HM2. In the U.S. Navy, I received the training for the job that I am doing now. Now,my withholding taxes are more than my Navy salary, when I was a Hospital Corpsman.
