The world's largest wetlands burned down this year. That's a disaster for all of us - CNN

This year has been the worst for fires. And this is tied to the way deforestation is done in the Amazon Bason with slash and burn to expose land in a massive way.,

We really need to do something before the world burns.

One more large source of extra CO2 into the atmosphere this year. Also you may have read of how extensive fires burned in the tundra of northern Siberia this year? Along with of course the massive fires in the U.S. western regions. It will be interesting to see how much of a atmospheric carbon bump those all made. I have a lot of respect for the resilience of nature, and nature would adapt to a larger (tipping point big increase) in global climate temperature, but humanity will suffer in many areas quite a lot if that trend continued for many decades. And would forcibly adapt, and/or else have a general collapse in civilization or very rough times. Believers have cause to expect other things to happen also. Not only the forecast 'roaring of the seas' that surprises many nations, as forecast in Luke chapter 21, v25.

According to what I read, our area in the northeastern part of the US will be winners for many years in the rise of Carbon from these fires. Everyone here seems to think that good ignoring the millions from the south that will head to places like ours because their lands are becoming less livable. Indeed in Africa, many of its wars have a root in rising temperatures.

Here's an idea.. let's hype the fires to promote carbon tax.

Carbon tax really doesn't work. We need to bring down the cost of green energy and help the poor afford it. We also need to get people to buy more green products and locally grown foods.

Yes, the new economy depends on it to keep the elites funded. Every 50 years or so a new sky is falling to keep the economy from getting stagnant. Wars and Communism are not as popular as they once were in the industrial sector.

I come from farm country. These farmers are struggling year after year to stay afloat. If more people bought local, from these struggling farmers maybe they would not fold. I also do not see them as elite.

This I agree with but the farmers are struggling because the rural life was sold out from underneath them. Farms, factories and small towns disappeared as corporations gobbled up what once belonged to the many in order to now profit the few. Small farms once thrived but now most work for corporations rather than themselves. Now corporate hunger for wealth and power has us all paying to fund their new green industrial revolution. The great reset which started this year will completely give world government a new meaning.

I'd not put any faith (faith is to believe without seeing) in men claiming warming is or isn't happening -- even that it is. Instead of faith in either, I'd look at the actual temperature (faith is to believe without looking/seeing; so looking to see isn't a faith act).

So, instead of putting trust/faith/belief in various individual men's claims, I'm looking to see the actual temperature, and then I verify by looking for other independent measurements, to compare, to test/check the source of the data. (ask if you want some)

How I know CO2 is actually a greenhouse gas and it actually works that way -- I have a degree in engineering physics, and can understand the situation on Venus, where the atmosphere is far hotter than the distance from the sun would make it without Venus's CO2. (as verified by actual Russian probes, and later by satellite probes)

We still have them out here, but they are struggling, so this is why I push to buy local. and best yet, know and support these farmers.

Yes but passing off soot from China melting ice in the Arctic as greenhouse gas is a subtle but profitable twist as they allow rain forests to be cut down and oceans fished dry. It's called letting the elites have it both ways.

I agree. I reside in two rural farming areas during the year.

If you are willing to tell me, who has been passing off soot as a greenhouse gas? (I'd like to politely correct their misunderstanding)

Soot does have an effect that can matter in some places -- when it lowers the albedo (reflectivity of sunlight off of a surface) when there is a lot of soot landing on previously highly reflective surfaces like ice or snow. In that situation (when that happens) the soot will cause more absorption of solar radiation, causing additional warming in that location.

Exactly. Anyone who lives in a snow climate knows how fast snow will disappear if it becomes dirty even at 20 below. Melt the ice and warm the oceans. Warm the oceans and it warms and disrupts the climate. But there is no profit to be made in applying the same environmental restrictions to China or India and the like that were imposed on North America 50 years ago. And people wonder why industrialists moved to these countries to avoid the costs of cleaning up after themselves. They now not only pollute but have started an entirely new industry to profit off the pollution they are making and the greenhouse gas absorbing trees and oceans they are destroying..

Sounds interesting but confusing, is it because your taking care of two properties or is it like my father who worked in a city and could only visit his family farm during vacation. We reside in the country and have two organic farms local which we can buy into. We will once I am healed enough to eat a great enough varity of vegetablex to make buying a share possible,
