Description

The World in 2019 will build on three decades of publishing success: this will be the 33rd edition. It will look ahead to the Trump administration’s prospects with a new Congress, the reality of Brexit, elections in India, Indonesia, Nigeria and across Europe, tech disruptions from AI and China (could 2019 mark “peak Sillicon Valley”?), space travel 50 years after the Moon landing and culture 500 years after Leonardo da Vinci.

A few facts for participants

The Economist publishes a special edition every December that predicts the trends and events for the year to come. The cover contains a mixture of well-known and obscure images. Remember its a talking piece meant to highlight what’s to come without saying it outright. Be mindful of the intended audience. The who matters as much as the what.

Please include sources when possible for mutual edification.

Keep in mind we’re addressing the occult. Some are born into its clutches. Others are there by choice and many are deceived. Let’s remember them in prayer and stand against the wiles of the devil.

Is there supposed to be some point to this post?

This is just the cover of a magazine published late in 2018 with possible predictions about what might happen in 2019. The magazine doesn't have magical powers or premonition, just columnists trying to guess about possible near-term futures.

(Though it does make me curious how badly their predictions of 2020 turned out given a certain virus.)

I guess I've followed some of the "spirit cooking" topics of the past in recent American politics. Been interested in Covid as a dress rehearsal for some kind of Beast system. Been interested in the rise of neo-paganism in the US. I even noticed the stuff "the Harbinger" was based on when it happened (that Clinton and other democrats were stupidly quoting the rebuilding the Watchtower passage of the Bible, not understanding the context of it being about bringing on God's Judgement).



But I sort of remember other side too like the Satanic panic of the 80s including the Martin school issue, not to mention other kinds of issues like the power of suggestion etc.

Exactly. Master number with a freemasonry correlation. I saw something earlier about the 33rd parallel latitude. But I need to chew on it. You may want to explore that angle. There’s a Phoenician connection.

I see a stork carrying a bundle in his beak. But the bundle has a bar code on the cloth.

The 4 Horsemen of the Apocalypse are interesting. The white rider wears a crown, the red rider is the statue of liberty wielding a sword and a mask, and the black rider wears a mask too (the sort commonly associated with costumes).

I have been fairly familiar with it use from flat earth reading and the numbers association with freemasonry. I will post a few videos if they are still up as the can be taken down on youtube.

I think the cover art is...sorta a tongue in cheek nod to the reality that all intellectual prognostication (mere thinking) is...in spite of partial successes, still a bit like casting dice, or reading tarot cards (which they certainty would see as a nonsense, or useful as a farcical thing).

They are just leading with a self depreciation.

I enjoyed your spotting of the symbols though, and found them fun in themselves.

Is that backwards writing on the image also? hah hah....that one is funny
