The Lord Jesus Christ gives us the POWER to BECOME the sons of God.
Joh 1:12-13 KJV
(12) But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
(13) Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
How so?
He sets us free from sin….having our “old man” crucified with Him so that the body of sin MIGHT BE DESTROYED…that is, rendered idle. In other words, the body of sin MUST be destroyed even after receiving Him in order to BECOME the sons of God.
We have been given the power to become the sons of God via the mortifying of the deeds of the body/flesh so that we no longer are serving sin…being slaves of sin.
Rom 6:5-6 KJV
(5) For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:
(6) Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
Again, if through the Spirit that has been given to us we then mortify/kill the deeds of the body, we shall live….have eternal life.
He has given us the power to BECOME the sons of God.....but we must follow through to slay the sin.
We use that power of God through His Spirit to kill the deeds of the body so that we may become the manifestation of the sons of God as the eternal life of Jesus gets manifested in our outer mortal flesh for all of the world to see. They will see that indeed Jesus is alive as we shall live as He does in this earth….with His eternal life.
Rom 8:12-14 KJV
(12) Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.
Even after the receiving of His Spirit, we shall mortally die if we continue to live after the flesh and not advance in slaying the deeds of the body so that we no longer are serving the sin.
But if we continue to be led by the Spirit of God, we are the sons of God....becoming the sons of God via the destruction of the body of sin.
(13) For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.
(14) For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
Satan and his ministers war against this process of BECOMING the manifestation of the sons of God by having it stopped. It is a war against us.
They are preventing multitudes from hearing the true good news of Christ and are therefore preventing the eternal life of Jesus from ever being made manifest in this earth as the serving of sin….THE sin…continues in His people when they follow after false prophets who are leading many down the broad way to the destruction of their mortal bodies.
There is a TRUTH of the gospel to be heard…..and it is not being preached by them.
Col 1:5 KJV
(5) For the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof ye heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel;
Many receive a false prophet of Satan who comes preaching “another jesus” with another spirit (the spirit of the antichrist) and preaches “another gospel”.
2Co 11:4 KJV
(4) For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.
The false prophet of Revelation 13 is the “second beast” who comes to us preaching “another jesus” which is the “first beast”.
They come forth to bring us into their “bondage”….

(4) And that because of false brethren unawares brought in, who came in privily to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage:
Again, there is a TRUTH OF THE GOSPEL that is not being preached by them. We must not subordinate ourselves to them.

(5) To whom we gave place by subjection, no, not for an hour; that the truth of the gospel might continue with you.
They want us to go their churches and keep their church handwriting of ordinances….the “image of the beast”…..which is used to judge others (“kill”) others. This is continuing to serve sin.

(15) And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.
(16) And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:
We are then brought back into bondage….and made slaves of the sin in the beast church system of men instead of slaying the sin out of our lives so that we might have His eternal life.
