Mel owns a sawmill, and business is good enough that he has to hire some help. His new employee is a good worker named Joe, but Joe is a bit clumsy. After a week on the job, Joe accidently saws his hand off. Mel ties up the wound, puts Joes severed hand in a plastic bag and rushes him off to the hospital.
