  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Does anyone know of any Christian recording artists they have enjoyed that don't seem to be very active (or even on the scene) anymore? Better yet, does anyone know of any artists who only have one album to their credit, and you find yourself wondering why you never hear anymore from them?

There was this one I enjoyed in the early '90s named Karthi -- she had a superbly beautiful voice. Sadly she only made one album.

A few others: True 4 U (a rap duo), Rhythm House, and Ji Lim.

And here are some artists who have been on the Christian music scene for quite a while that seem to be "has-beens" these days: like Kenny Marks, Kim Boyce, Leslie Phillips, and Barry McGuire.

Leslie Phillips changed her name to Sam Phillips (Sam was a childhood nick name) and went over to the mainstream market. She continues to release CDs.

They evolved from a contemporary, to more of a pop... now she's an excellent acounstic folk with Tom Waits-esque percussion.

Five O' Clock People - I so miss those guys
Fold Zandura or Mortal - Jerome (that guy rocks) now is a part of Switchfoot
Ghoti Kook - Broke up
Solomon's Wish - Rocked up their sound, changed members and is now an indie band
Aaron Sprinkle - by no way inactive, but I still miss his solo work. His new band, Fair, does beat his stellar solo albums, though.

Yes and no. He has a remix and live project out last year.

Oh I see. I may never forget his song "When God Ran". That was probably one of the most emotionally charged songs I ever heard back when I was in school.

I heard that song.... one of the lovliest ballads in Christian music.
