(1) In the Bible, Christians are only the disciples of Paul and Barnabas.
(2) The 12 Disciples are never called Christians by the Son.
(3) Paul called those he persecuted The Way. If he'd been persecuting Christians, he probably would have said so.

Deuteronomy 18:18-19 sets the stage and John 12:44-50 fulfills that prophecy.

It wasn’t available to call them Christians in the gospels as I believe that term originated with the born-again people making reference to having Christ in themselves….It’s only used 3x in the Bible
1Pe 4:16, Act 26:28, and your reference Act 11:26

I think there is still a group that are called "The Way" … I know they were around in the 80’s.

Paul did not distinguish between the religion he followed and the religion of those he had persecuted:

Acts 24:14 But this I confess to you, that according to the Way, which they call a sect, I worship the God of our fathers, believing everything laid down by the Law and written in the Prophets,
