  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I walk by faith and not by sight
When things go wrong it'll be alright
Someone greater is watching over me

I can't cope with the mystery of death and lack of understanding of the origins of the universe
I interpret anything good that happens into being the work of God rather than simple luck
I'm middle-aged but I'm still young enough for an imaginary friend!

I love interpreting contemporary Christian music.

walk by faith and not by sight and every thing will be alright.
Let us know how that works out when you walk into a telephone pole :)

But seriously, I dont understand why this is such a good idea. Ideally I would think you'd need a mix of both. Faith to tell you what your sight cannot, and your sight to see things your faith will not.

I personally use both. I give my faith to my community and myself to believe that the sidewalk (or floor or whatever) is well built (unless given stimuli to show otherwise) and that I will not fall through or experience any other dangers of some sort. I then use my sight to direct where I move (as well as the sense of touch to know when my legs hit the ground and how to adjust my center of gravity to go against any wind or other obsticle).

So far it worked well for me, but for each his own.
