But There Is Historical Evidence Of Some Observance Of The Seventh-day Sabbath Among The Waldenses. A Report Of An Inquisition Before Whom Were Brought Some Waldenses Of Moravia In The Middle Of The Fifteenth Century Declares That Among The Waldenses "not A Few Indeed Celebrate The "sabbath With The Jews."--johann Joseph Ignaz Von Dollinger, Beitrage Zur Sektengeschichte Des Mittelalters (reports On The History Of The Sects Of The Middle Ages), Munich, 1890, 2d Pt., P. 661. There Can Be No Question That This Source Indicates The Observance Of The Seventh-day Sabbath.

Do you have a link to the "not a few indeed celebrate the sabbath with the Jews" quote in the context of the paragraph or page it was written? I have been looking online and can only find the quote you gave and nothing of the context.

You have got to be kidding me.

It is simply amazing to me that the Trads are still trying to desperately defend this false premise! ^_^

Even Sam Bacchiocchi has gone on record as stating that the Waldenses were NOT Sabbath-keepers!

But they won't even accept it from one of thier own scholars!

Important Note:

Wylie’s history of the Waldenses is an important historical document that needs to be read. This edition has been republished by a Seventh Day Adventist group. Although they have not altered or edited Wylie’s actual text, two pages were inserted at the front with quotes from Ellen G. White. Ironically, Dr. Samuele Bacchiocchi, himself an SDA, and recognized as a scholar, has dismissed any idea that the Waldenses were Sabbath keepers.
I spent several hours searching for an answer in the two scholarly volumes Storia dei Valdesi--(History of the Waldenses), authored by Amedeo Molnar and Augusto Hugon. These two books were published in 1974 by the Claudiana, which is the official Italian Waldensian publishing house. They are regarded as the most comprehensive history of the Waldenses. To my regret I found no allusion whatsoever to Sabbathkeeping among the Waldenses

There is 'zero' history that Christians "kept" the seventh day Sabbath to exclude Sunday Mass. There was a short period of time Christians would go to the Temple on Sabbath for fellowship of fellow Jews they were attempting to convert to Christianity.

And to think all these years the evil Catholics were believed to be the cause of "sun worship". Every historical source used to demonstrate sabbath keeping ends in the same way the Waldenses claim ends.

Eventually the General Conference is going to have to make an open apology to Catholicism for repeatedly bearing false witness against the Catholic Church on this sabbath issue.

My only wish is that when the house comes down that SDA's don't throw the baby out with the bath water.

Should we expect less from a Catholic? To defend their own faith.

Eli,

Sorry I can't find a link to the book. I am sure it is out of print. But the actual reference that I found was in the appendix of The Great Controversy.
