I've submitted one of my manuscripts again. This company is international and does both traditional and hybrid publishing, and has a shorter response time than most.

I struggle with submitting to more than one at a time. Most take a long response time due to the amount they receive to look over, and many won't respond at all if they are not interested and just leave you hanging instead. Some of them don't like it if you have it submitted to others simultaneously, but some don't mind with the expectation that you will inform them if another publisher accepts your manuscript before they do.

If you wish to be published at any time then I recommend www.ingramspark.com. I published my book with them and it was fairly easy. I also got the book designed myself with Adobe InDesign. That program helped me to get the right format for publishing.

Thanks for the info. I want to continue trying through traditional means for a little while longer. If I do decide to go the indie route, I will look into them.

I received an email late last week that my manuscript made it past a junior editor and has been sent to a board of editors for consideration. It said that a decision should be made and given to me in 2-3 weeks.

I'm compulsively checking email several times a day just to see if there is an answer yet. I know it's just been since last week and I was checking during the weekend, but... gah... I can't help it.
