  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

A few years ago I was at a church camp. At the time we were studing how God would not always come out and talk to you in a regular voice. How you would have to listen to small things. For example, the burning bush. Everynight we would gather around a campfire. We would have sort of a closing word for the day. Right before we had our closing prayer, a teacher spoke again how Gods voice will sometimes be silent and work its way up. I believe he may have even said, Like a storm. During our prayer we heard a storm suddenly. It was not a storm to be scared of. It was a comforting feeling. Everyone knew God was with us and telling us he was there. Everytime i think about that story i still get cold chills. I dont know if it was one of those things where you had to be there or not, but it was fascinating.
