The vision of "progressive" Adventists

Since you brought up my attitude, let me ask you about yours.

How would you like it if illegal aliens slowly invaded your home that was built with the prayers, finances, blood, sweat, and tears of your forefathers and began eating your food, using your supplies, telling your children what to do or what not to do? Eventually, the illegal aliens got a bedroom for themselves. Took over the bathroom. Went next for the kitchen and eventually forced you out of the window of your master bedroom. Finally, they got the deed to your property. (Oh, and did I mention they kidnapped your children and forced them against you?)

So what bes you trying to say here? That you yourself do not like where the SDA church institution has gone and you blame this on -- who? On those who have left the mainstream church and formed new and different flavours of SDA church RATHER than stick around your home church to be "invaders" and whatnot? Because if you bes talksy about them whats stayed in the mainstream, you bes talksy about your own family there, not illegal aliens.

What bes your thing here, YN? What bes torquing you up? What bes your position on the SDA church and what did you hope to get out of it that got disappointed somehow (and how, and by what or whom?)

Ah yes The TSDA beginning assumption that any but their view is alien or illegal. It matters little to them that the PSDA grew up in the SDA church and are just as much Adventist as the TSDA.

Delusional as anyone can see is a fitting description for their world view.

Why are some trying to reinvent the wheel?

Once upon a time, there was a fast-food restaurant called MillerTime. Its famous menu item was called the Landmarks twin-beef burger, at a cost of 1844 cents. Its popularity grew. (Those who didn't like the beef of MillerTime, always had the option of trying chicken at Chick-sun-DAY.) Some cooks (Hook and Blink-her-off) at MillerTime didn't like the decor in the restaurant, the no-smoking rule, and also decided that the Landmarks burger didn't taste so good. They left MillerTime and founded WHENDY's! Now, they serve the beef-less "Double" on the no-IJ bun. (Where's the beef?) They don't serve the SOP, like MillerTime. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SOP. You can get a few crumbs, though. (Smoking is allowed in WHENDY's, by the way.)

Now, today, there is MillerTime and WHENDY's across the street from each other. A long-time MillerTime customer has come to the conclusion that he would like a beef-less burger. But MillerTime doesn't serve beef-less burgers, and has no plans to do so. In fact, the founders of MillerTime told the customers of MillerTime never to allow beef-less burgers and to forbid those who want them from trying a hostile takeover. This customer is free to walk out of MillerTime doors and enter WHENDY's open doors. But NO! He wants to have MillerTime change and to stop serving the Landmarks and to start serving the Double-hammy.

Moriah knows of an SDA forum that you would probably really enjoy, YN. They would appreciate these kinds of writeups and consider them totally hilarious, and would probably "get" all your references right off the bat down to nitty gritty details that elude daimonizomai.

But you still bes assuming there can be only one wheel. When in reality, different sizes and thicknesses bes needed for different purposes. Trains could not operate with automobile wheels, and modern cars would be rather silly and useless if outfitted with wagon wheels. Moreover one cannot spin cloth on a flywheel. Even Ezekiel's Merkabah vision contained wheels WITHIN wheels, indicating that the throne of the Almighty bes both mobile AND multi-dimensional in scope and travel. *shrug*

And when all bes said and done you have answered in general concerning your discontent over anything emerging from the Millerite phenomenon what bes not mainstream SDA church. It gets that this bes your wheel and it gets that you personally see no value in other wheels of other sizes, shapes, colors, thicknesses, and applied purposes. What it does not get bes why this one particular wheel of 1863 either epitomizes them all or else eclipses all others in importance, for you.

Those other groups more or less broke off. I believe progressive Adventism seeks reform from within.

However much like Martin Luther they might fail at such a goal and create a new church.

With all due respect, most people don't care to share their goals, dreams and visions with those they anticipate will only spit on them and heap scorn and fling poo and try to shatter those dreams before they have a chance to get them out the gate. Something about casting pearls before swine being the principle here (and no, it bes not calling you or anyone else a swine, merely invoking the metaphor Christ employed for these situations -- one does not throw treasured and valuable things out into view where feet wait specifically to trample them into the dirt).

well said.... I suspect YN has a laundry list of things he is just waiting to compare the "vision" to and assess whether or not progressives are of the devil or not....
