What role does a "progressive SDA" church have in 2008 that did not exist in the other churches prior to 1863? (This concerns the whole congregation/denomination, not you as an individual.)

And so, the role of a "progressive SDA" church is? (as compared to the role of a Seventh Day Baptist Church or a Church of God, Seventh Day? or any other sabbath-keeping church with no ties to the Seventh-day Adventist Church?)There have always been Progressive Christians. The Adventist church was founded by those who could not accept what traditions had placed upon Christianity and they sought a better understanding. The problem comes when an organization begins to think of itself as the repository of truth instead of as seekers of truth.
The more important question is what is wrong with the SDA church of today. I know that may be hard for you to comprehend since like most Traditional Adventist you begin with the assumption that your church has the truth and you are the remnant. But you have to leave behind the idea that your denomination is "the" tool rather then "a" tool. Of course if you can't do that there is the Traditional Adventist forum.
For starters, they don't seem capable of immanentizing the Eschaton ... nor even truly aware of what bes necessary to do so, though many hints have been given in their very midst what bes the central matter here....Well spoken.

There was a group that tried to "progress" out of the SDA Church from "old doctrines" about 150 years ago. Are you a little late?Progressive is as its name suggests. To Progress the Adventist church out of traditionalism and old doctrines. In some ways it places extra emphasis on present truth.
Since you brought up my attitude, let me ask you about yours.Really when you think of the attitude of Yourneighbor...
Did you mean to say 120?There was a group that tried to "progress" out of the SDA Church from "old doctrines" about 150 years ago. Are you a little late?
No, I didn't.Did you mean to say 120?
... And it is a good reminder of the delusional nature of certain people which forced this forum into existence, because it becomes a complete waste of time to talk to delusional people and at some point you have to move on.
Oh, OK. You bes stuck on that split for some reason it seems. What did that particular split signify to you? What effects do you see it having or what importance does it have for you?No, I didn't.1863 was the year. http://cog7.org/introduction.htm
