Discussion The use of AI Technology with the Spiritual gifts

Recently there has been a couple of threads in the Spiritual gifts section that advocated the use of AI technology into understanding certain Spiritual gifts. One thread advocated the use of this technology to try and understand what was being said by the gift of tongues, and another here popped up within the last week or so showing how a person was trying to train one of these programs to sort out what prophecies from people were true or not.

It seems that this has become a new distraction for the body of Christ, at least for some people, but as scripture says, Spiritual gifts require The Holy Spirit to discern them,....

1Co 2:12 But we received, not the spirit of the world, but The Spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us by God.
1Co 2:13 Which things also we speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which The Spirit teacheth; comparing Spiritual things with Spiritual.
1Co 2:14 Now the natural man receiveth not the things of The Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him; and he cannot know them, because they are Spiritually discerned.

GOD has already provided the means into properly understanding Spiritual things from Him. GOD provided the gift of interpretation to understand the gift of tongues, and He has also provided the discerning of spirits gift to know what is being spoken by The Holy Spirit.

I would say this really amounts to people who are not filled with The Holy Spirit improperly trying to make sense of the Spiritual things from GOD, and in turn failing in the process because they are immature spiritually and not dedicated to scripture.

Gimmicks

It seems Christians nowadays are easily distracted with gimmicks (which amounts to a sign of the times).

The person that believed that their gift of tongues could be translated into human languages really didn't have much biblical understanding on the proper operation of their gift when I asked them about it. The real kicker to that situation was how a single tongues message could have "2" interpretations derived from it by The Holy Spirit. How would an AI program know when such a multiple thought scenario had been provided by The Holy Spirit?

It comes down to wasted time associated with gimmicks. Instead of investing their time with Jesus for holiness, they waste their time playing around with these material items instead of grounding themselves in scripture and relationship with Jesus.


How about the person that thinks AI can be trained to sift through so-called prophetic messages over the years, and then pin-point those people who are actually true prophets/prophetesses from said messages??

That sort of oddball situation is a real example of how a person can have seriously bad understanding of not just the gifts, but of how the ministries/offices actually work from Jesus.

There's not been a single person that I've ever seen pointed out on here by people that The Holy Spirit ever witnessed as a prophet. To be honest, there hasn't been a prophet in the body of Christ for a very long time. The reason I can say that is because of the example of Jesus. People knew Jesus was a prophet because of not just what The Holy Spirit would speak through Him, but of the examples of The Father's power operating through Him to heal people.

Jesus had a true ministry/office of a prophet that operated not just in words, but in demonstration of power. Jesus had a true anointing from The Father upon His head for such an office, these wannabe's that pop up on youtube here and there could only hope to have such an anointing in their life.

When a true prophet/prophetess is raised up by GOD in the body of Christ, everyone in the body is going to know it. We are not going to need AI to try and point it out to us.

6. THE DISCERNING OF SPIRITS

DEFINITION - The gift of the discerning of spirits reveals the spiritual source of a spiritual manifestation. The basic Greek root word for discern, diakrino, means "to judge through, to see through to the truth, and to rightly evaluate something.” It is the eyes of the heart being operated by The Spirit of Truth for direct eyesight into the spiritual realm to therefore judge and discriminate a spiritual source.

It is the discerning “of spirits” not the gift of discernment. Spiritual discernment allows people to perceive and know the presence of The Spirit of Truth and the spirit of delusion, whilst the gift of discerning of spirits allows people to temporarily “see” and to rightly identify both good and evil spirits, as well as appraise motives from people.

This gift is an absolute requirement for all those used of GOD in the “gifts of healings” ministry. Without it, those who claim to minister healing and deliverance are simply guessing as to whether a demonic stronghold is actually present or not.

B. APPLICATION - The gift can operate in 2 areas through a believer:

1) Sight – In this capacity, it opens one’s eyes to the spiritual realm, revealing the similitude of GOD Himself, or the risen Christ exalted and enthroned. It can reveal angels in their ceaseless worship of and service for The Lord, as well as open up a view into that sphere where satan and his hosts in all their cunning activities are seen. It can also reveal the presence of demonic power possessing or oppressing a person in connection to the operation of the gifts of healings.

2) Insight - In this capacity, it gives the believer revelation into the spiritual disposition of people and their good or evil tendencies. It can lay bare the spirit of man, revealing the pure and guileless, or the crafty and hypocritical. It can discover the strength or weakness in a person, showing whether an individual is a “Peter” upon whom a work can be built, or a vacillating type with a weak and unbelieving nature.

This gift can inspire the church, as well as safeguard her from the wicked, and enable her to choose the best for her ministries.

C. METHODS - The gift is active when visual sight of spirits, good or evil, are revealed by The Holy Spirit through the believer’s eyes. This gift is always operated by the will of The Holy Spirit, and cannot be activated by the believer's will or personal faith.

NOTE: This gift has no association with thought reading or any sort of act or natural talent attributed to the natural mind or will of mankind.



Following the example of Jesus in being filled with The Holy Spirit after His water immersion has it's advantages as a born again Christian. I don't have to try and figure out if GOD was speaking through a person, GOD reveals it to me through this gift.

Does a born again, Spirit-filled Christian need an AI program to discern Spiritual matters?? Not if GOD is already providing the means of understanding through His gifts.

Hmmmmmmm,...........Can an AI program be trained to truly discern that?

Survey says,...... no.

The reason I say no is because there are 3 possible sources of a voice, an evil spirit(s), a human spirit, and The Holy Spirit.

How would an AI program began to even know the differences of these 3? This would be the material trying to peer into the unseen and discern it's source, that's not going to happen with an AI program. It can speculate the words, actions, and history of a person, and maybe the possible emotional intent involved, but it can never instantly witness to a Spirit-filled Christian the source differences like The Holy Spirit can inside of our human spirit. It is on the spot spontaneous with The Holy Spirit to us.

Besides,.... The Holy Spirit speaks more at a local church level than on a national level. The amount of prophesiers masquerading themselves as prophets and prophetesses on youtube and elsewhere is quite immense, but anyone with a bit of Spiritual wisdom inside writes these people off instantly, so I'm not sure how useful an AI program would be to one of us more mature ones in that regard. I guess it might be useful for the more ignorant in the body of Christ, but that is to be seen yet I guess, who knows.

And,...... what about down the road??

What makes anyone think that the programing work involved in the development of such a program like this wouldn't be snatched up by some intel agency around the world and used nefariously against others?

7. THE GIFT OF PROPHESYING

A. DEFINITION - The gift of prophesying is inspirational utterance in a known language which the one giving the utterance and the audience understands. The Hebrew word for prophecy means: "To flow forth or to spring forth." It also carries the same thought of bubbling forth like a fountain, or “To tumble forth." The Greek word for prophecy means to "speak for another." The term “prophecy” here can be easily misunderstood since it is used both generically in our bible as well as specifically. The definition provided here is for the “specific” gift of prophesying.

B. APPLICATION - The utterance of this gift can be discerned from three possible spiritual sources through a believer:

1) The Holy Spirit - The corporate ministry gift of prophesying is uttered by The Holy Spirit unto the assembly, and will always come in the limited framework of “Edification, Encouragement, and Comfort” as defined in 1Cor 14:3. These three attributes of this ministry will always be contained together in a message from The Holy Spirit, the crowning achievement being the Holy Spirit’s peace and comfort with the message. It is always given in the spirit of love to edify the assembly rather than condemn or tear it down. The message can be poetic, and elevated beyond the natural gift of speech, having a tangible Spiritual edification on the inside of the believer’s spirit during the message.

2) The human spirit - Prophesying that is uttered from the human spirit in the assembly is unable to edify and minister unto our spirit on the inside since it does not originate from The Holy Spirit. It can possibly be negative and critical, but mostly just dry of spiritual edification. It can also be presented in the form of a lie like a false sense of security or peace, as was depicted in the 28th Chapter of Jeremiah, where Hananiah the Prophet of GOD spoke peace and was condemned by Jeremiah the Prophet for falsely attributing his words as GOD’s words. The LORD judged his false words as teaching rebellion unto the people against The LORD, and condemned and killed His own Prophet.

3) evil spirit(s) - Prophesying that is uttered by an evil spirit(s) is subtle, deceptive, manipulative, and the opposite to the character and nature of GOD. It tries to manipulate individuals/churches to make hasty decisions, thereby causing wrong choices that take people or the church out of the will of GOD. It will be tangibly felt as a wrong check by The Holy Spirit inside of our spirit when it is being spoken. A biblical example of this can be seen in the 2nd chapter of Jeremiah where GOD says His prophets “prophesied by Baal” instead of by His Spirit.

C. METHODS - This gift can be manifested in 2 ways through a believer:

1) Corporately - The gift is yielded to The Holy Spirit’s promptings, and operated by His utterance in human languages unto the assembly in a designated ministry. The message will be limited to “Edification, Exhortation, and Comfort” just as Paul defined in 1st Corinthians.

The gift can also be used corporately to an individual. The Encouragement portion of the gift can be used by The Holy Spirit to confirm to a believer what was already revealed to them by The Holy Spirit beforehand, and establish and strengthen their walk with Jesus. This is done before the assembly and judged by the assembly.

2) Personally - This gift can be stepped out in personal faith and operated by the believer’s human spirit for personal edification similar to the gift of tongues. This personal use of the gift by our human spirit can sometimes be wrongly operated in the assembly by a young or misguided believer, and cause much grief and division in the body of Christ, since normally the message is expected to be inspired from The Holy Spirit when uttered in the assembly. It can be one of the most abused gifts of the nine by Spirit-filled believers if it is allowed to be used wrongfully in this sort of manner.
