The unsure war
Air as still as frozen night
Vapor of doubt rises and fills the lonely warrior’s helm
Beast of apathy lurks behind
He drops a knee and sword falls
Where is the battle captain shouting?
Where is the standard raised?
Long black fingers of fingers of distrust tear at the tired heart
Purpose is broken under the crushing blow of doubt
Eyes rise to the sky but no light shines within
Deep wells of disillusion
Truth why have you forsaken me?
Surety why did you leave me?
The broken field no longer clear
Direction no longer sure
Justice where have you gone?
Where is the Templar's verdict?
Judgment where is your sting?
Heaven where is your cry?
The winds don’t come
All is night in the broken valley
Cry aloud for heavens bearing but there is no answer
The book is broken and the seal is lost
No more light rises from the pages
Verse and creed vanish like smoke into the air
