over time there has been and still are people who haven`t had the gospel preached to them, will these people have their names written in the lambs book of life? or are they just lost? :help:
I have a very odd view of this that I can only partially prove with the word. I would never teach this from the pulpit.
I suspect that God knows who would have become Christians had they heard the gospel. It is kind of like being the good soil of the parable, but never having received the seed.
Do not jump me about this guys. It is just a concept.
I would enjoy any view pro or con on this.

Everyone's name is already written in the Lambs book of life. Every single person. The bible talks of removing names from the book, not putting them in. Those people who reject Jesus will have their name erased from the book when they die.

No, Yeshua said the Gospel will go out to all the world before He returns. Between missionaries, internet, satellitte TV and radio, it's happening. Everyone will get their chance to hear. What they do with it is up to them.
That's for those who are living at the time.

People who have died without hearing the good news will be judged by their conscience

I believe God knows the beginning from the end. He already knows all that will transpire as if it has already happend.

Although I mostly don't believe it's a matter of who will accept and who wont. Your statement "I suspect that God knows who would have become Christians had they heard the gospel", this is assumeing all will have the opportunity to hear the gospel yet what we see today and throughout history is that whole nations are being kept in the dark.

I think we can all blame or thank our ancestors. Lets face it, if you are born inside the 10/40 window your ancestors have played a major part in whether you are going to be able to hear the good news or not, and likewise, if you were born in the Western world, your ancestors played a major roll in whether you will hear the good news or not.

It's not so much about location as it's about oppurtunity.
Really? When 99% of India doesn't have the opportunity to hear the gospel and 99% of Americans have the opportunity to hear the gospel I would say "location" is one of the major deciding factors on whether you're going to ever hear the gospel.

Probably less than 99% because Christian TV is all over India, and only the poorest have zero access to Seeing TV at one time or another.

Would you believe 99% of Indians are too poor to have satelite dishes?

In my best Maxwell Smart impression :sorry:

Ok, 90% :sigh:
90% of 1.5 billion people is still a very sizeable number wouldn't you say?

I remember a pastor preaching from the pupit that there would be 3 kinds of people in heaven, those that are suprised that they are there, those who are suprised at who is there and those whoa ren't suprised that they are there. I think that is valid in this case :) Like your thinking DreamerofDreams

Very fine Maxwell Smart impression. :sorry:

Think about the book of Genesis... times before structured religion. There was no Christianity, and there was no Israel. (Jacob's name changes to Israel late in Genesis.) God walked among people in the garden. Noah heard the instructions of the Lord and followed. God still got things done without structured religion.

There is information to get out, yes, but imagine God hand-tied by a lack of satellite dishes.

Our prayers can be more powerful than our words. There was a post on the dream forum yesterday, that someone was woken up to pray for a child that was being suffocated. I believe that the Holy Spirit prompts us to pray for people all over the world, and that God acts on our words. There is so much we could be doing.

( Btw, did anyone see Behind the Scenes a couple years ago, showing satellite dishes over tents on the streets of India? I will not assume that's the norm.)

There is a verse in the Bible - need to search but the only one I found here is this. There is a verse that says you will not have need of a teacher that the Holy Spirit will lead you.

  1. Chapter)
  2. John 14:26
But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.
    John 14:25-27 (in Context) Joh
