Dr.Buttercup,
Whenever food is involved; you can be assured I'll be there!!
And I would love to be in the Mathematics course.
I can use a course on the intricacies of percentages one should bank to create more blessable wealth… for future uses.

Got any leftovers for a starving student. You know how hard we have to study to get the grade, so a job is not an option, but I suppose I can pick up cans from the street, to eat tonight. He He.

SCRIPTURE QUOTE:
3 John; 2: "Beloved, I pray that in all respects you may prosper and be in good health, just as your soul prospers".

THIS MONTHS TOPIC: MINERALS
Why are minerals so important to our health? Our bodies are composed of millions of cells that work together to carry out our daily functions. These cells use enzymes to do their work and many enzymes are activated by minerals. Without minerals, enzymes will not be activated and cells will not be able to complete their tasks. Minerals are essential to bone formation as well as enzyme synthesis, regulation of the heartbeat, digestion, the flow of body fluids, and the pH balance of the blood. They help you feel well instead of depressed, help prevent premature aging, baldness, wrinkles and help with lack of endurance. That's just the beginning of the importance of mineral supplementation. Minerals are the foundation of our health. Without them our bodies will become diseased.
Because of today's poor eating habits such as, fast food, canned, processed and pre-packaged meals, we are not getting the minerals in our diets that help our cells to regenerate and rebuild. Thus, allowing disease, viruses, fungus and worse, to occur in the body. Today's food production takes food, which is already low in minerals and ads to the depletion, by the processing that is used. With processing and refining, it removes almost all minerals from our food. We also have to consider the soil that our food is grown in. With commercial fertilizers and other chemicals used, our soil is now mineral deficient.
All minerals have two main functions; building/regenerating, and regulating. We need minerals to sustain life, and keep healthy. Without them we will suffer greatly.
Minerals will be of no benefit to our bodies if they can't go right to the cellular level to do their work. This is to regenerate and nourish tissue. You need pure ionic (angstrom size and cellular ready), water soluble minerals.

NUTRITION CORNER: Six Fabulous Foods to Try out This Year!
1. Berries -
These small colorful fruits are loaded with antioxidants that may help protect against many conditions, and diseases as well as oxidative damage to the eyes, brain, heart and joints. They are easy on calories and have lots of fiber and phytonutrients and will not cause spikes in blood sugar. Blueberries are at the top of the antioxidant charts. Organic are the best variety choices.
2. Black Cod -
Might be called Butter-fish or Sable-fish. It's mild flavor is treasured in Japan. It has more Omega-3 fats than Salmon. Black Cod is good for your heart and has low levels of mercury and PCB contaminants. Smoked Sable is sold in Jewish or Russian delis. The fish can also be broiled, steamed or grilled in miso (soy bean paste). Purchase Black Cod from Alaska, where it's a good resource.
3. Buckwheat -
A relative of the rhubarb and contains no wheat. It is a slowly digested carbohydrate that's filled with fiber, and has an earthy taste. People with wheat allergies or Celiac disease can eat Buckwheat grits, groats, and kernels (known as kasha) because they lack gluten. Be aware, products made with buckwheat flour, including breads and Japanese soba noodles, may contain wheat flour unless they're labeled gluten free.
4. Sweet Potatoes -
These yellow and orange vegetables should be eaten year round. They earn their praise and excellent sources of vitamin A (as carotenoids and preserve eye health) and C, and for their fiber if you eat the skin. A baked one has approximately 100 calories. Okinawans regularly eat purple sweet potatoes.
5.Turmeric -
Color and flavor of curries in American mustard come from this low-orange spice that is used in Indian and Asian cooking. You can also make a tea out of it. It is commonly served as a tea in Okinawa.
6. Walnuts -
Plant based and filled with alpha-linolenic acid (an Omega-3 fatty acid) and vitamin E, can also supply a sweet and crunchy source of protein and fiber. Weather you snack on a handful, put it in your salad, main dishes or baked goods, walnuts are versatile and rank one of the most popular nuts in the world.

RESEARCH REPORTS:
Heart surgery has been found to be less of a risk if a patient is given a magnesium supplement beforehand. (Journal of the American Medical Association 268 Nov.4, 1992; 2395-402)
At the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Texas it was found that calcium may lower high blood pressure. Patients with hypertension taking calcium daily for 18 weeks had a lowering of blood pressure. When they stopped taking calcium their blood pressure returned to it's original rate. (NFM's Nutritional Science News, April 1996)
Some fruits and vegetables have antioxidant activity that is eight times higher than vitamin C's. As far as fruits go, blueberries and strawberries have the most, followed by plums, oranges, red grapes, kiwi, pink grapefruit, white grapefruit, white grapes, apples, tomatoes, bananas, pears, and melons. Kale was the vegetable with the most antioxidant activity followed by beats, red peppers, broccoli, spinach, sweet potatoes, potato and corn. (Nutrition Research News, May 1997)
There is growing evidence that praying of patients increase their chances of living. In one study those receiving daily prayer required fewer antibiotics, had less pneumonia (commonly contracted in hospitals these days), less heart attacks and needed fewer diuretics. (Journal of Family Practice 35, 1992, 201-208).

DID YOU KNOW:
That Rep Daddy prowls around at night looking at what the faculty have hidden in their desks?

That it was overheard in the ladies room that , Star71, Gazelle and Gig, have so many stars, it sometimes makes their heads hurt?

That Tychius2t, BellaSong, and Lel, have been missing in action?

That 4tune8, hides a bottle of wine in his desk and RepDaddy knows about it?

That Buttercup was seen giving good coffee to Faculty in the mornings just to get her job?

That there are two students that are on the prowl for all YOUR JOBS, JoabAnias and Sugarlady?

That StarMaker is really only a figment of our imagination?

Hope you all enjoyed this newsletter. Peace and Prayers to and for all. Isabella1 (Your Secretary)
