Hi Gig, I read something yesterday and it reminded me about my business. It really spoke to me. Just wanted to share it with ya.

Think about your average day. Pause for just a few minutes, a few quiet minutes, and think about your average day. You are on the go from the moment you arise, perhaps until the moment your head hits the pillow at night. Your day is filled with whatever your average day is filled with. Activities of various kinds, perhaps. Your average day is not a quiet, calm, reflective retreat. Hardly.

You go about what you need to go about. But how often do you pause to reflect on what a tremendous, mind-boggling mystery it all is, your life, the world, your life in the world.The mystery of existence, the mystery of other people and your relationships with them. The mystery of the joy and anguish that fills your heart day-in, day-out. The mystery of the sum and moon and the stars. It's all a great and wonderful mystery, yet so often our eyes are glued to the mundane details. The laundry needs to be done, dinner needs to be planned and prepared, work makes its demands, money needs to be earned and bills must be paid.

All these things are real, but it's important to stop and wonder at the mystery of it all. Now and then it's important to whisper a prayer of gratitude and wonder. Now and then.

Prayer: Loving Father, thank you for the great mystery of my life and of your creation; help me to remember to say thank you from time to time. Amen.
