You know, I am tired of answering your questions, time for you to answer mine:
Given that the big bang is the most widely accepted theory of the creation of the universe and given the laws of conservation of energy/mass where did the energy/mass come from to fuel the big bang? It is a suprisingly simple question.....till you answer it, I give no more answers to your questions.

I can't answer your question, but I will say that the label "big bang" is a misnomer; there was no "explosion" to be "fuelled", but general relativity does allow for repulsive gravity. Inflation theory describes how the expansion of space/time created energy (light, matter, etc) and negative energy (gravity) in equal parts (or more precisely, the energy density, including negative energy, stays constant during the initial expansion), thus not violating the conservation of energy.

Do you really think that those astrophysicists working on "the most widely accepted theory" of cosmology would have overlooked a 'small' detail like the conservation of energy?

And what exactly are you going to do with it? Claim that it doesn't support your idea that the "big bang" was a giant firecracker?

Did you suddenly gain the credentials of an astrophysicist sometime during the day?

I am not claiming it as truth, I am only presenting my layman's level understanding of it.

Another thought: why should "nothing" be the initial condition? Everybody wants to know how "something" came from "nothing". (That is essentially what @civilwarbuff is asking when he is asking where the energy/mass came from.)

So why should "nothing" be the initial state for cosmology? Furthermore, why should there be an initial state? Why not let time go to negative infinity?

We could say the mathematical laws, time, etc. that allows the universe to change and grow is an aspect of God, so when we learn laws of gravity, etc. we are learning about God Himself. This simplifies everything it seems to me. I suppose this is a little bit like pantheism, but I don't think that contradicts Christianity. We can still allow for Jesus and heaven and hell if we want.

As I said earlier, I am not offering to explain the theory to you, much less provide evidential support for it, plus have to explain the evidence, when I don't even know myself if the theory is accurate.

If you have some basic questions, I can give it a go, but if you really want to hammer it out you should do it in a forum at cosmoquest.

No, but it has an effect on whether of not someone should take you seriously or just discount you because of lack of research....You should at least have some knowledge and be able to answer basic questions on what you quote. Any of us can Google Wiki...

or, the hundreds of hours I have spent reading or listening to audiobooks and science podcasts over the years just to try to get a handle on this stuff, so that I can have brief exchanges with my honour-roll children on these subjects.

You should at least have some knowledge and be able to answer basic questions on what you quote.

Where do ideas come from? That's a whole different topic. Maybe one of God's attributes is inspiration (along with mathematical laws, fundamentals of physics, etc.)? Maybe every truly inspired brush stroke of an artist is the voice of God?
