  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

If you think the universe is more than 100 years old, you know it can't be running on Windows because we would have experienced the blue screen of death already requiring a reboot back to the beginning.

If it was rebooted & the data recovered, would you really know the difference :)

When My Sim's Game crashes, the Sims in their world take up exactly from the last data save point.

This whole concept is very similar to the thread I started about the Simulation Hypothesis.

Thanks.

It's such a good interpretation and fits in so cleanly with both quantum physics and classical physics in a framework that makes it easy for me to understand that I really am amazed I only came across this a week ago or something.

It reminds me of Einstein asking the question "Do you really believe that if no one is looking, the moon isn't there?". And of course Einstein hated quantum mechanics because he couldn't visualise a framework that could explain what is going on in quantum mechanics. And that's because Einstein wasn't around to see the desktop, so he wasn't able to see how for example a computer game in a 3d world vectors the graphics as you're going along (sometimes this can be quite noticeable).

And Einstein even said that quantum mechanic ISN'T complete yet, because it hadn't yet had an interpretation that properly describes what is going on. I think if he was alive today he'd be on board with this, in fact he probably would have come up with this interpretation himself in the 1970s
