• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

 • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
 • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

downwind of me, that is. ^_^
I like your spirit already tho. You can feel free to park or float that around anywhere hereabouts.
How'd ya get detached and what are you lookin' for... doors & windows, chairs or pews, storefront or stained glass, blue jeans or fancy pants,... oh wait a minute... maybe you're one of those guys who thinks doctrine & relationships are important?
You haven't been "burdened" with any of that kind of sensibility have you?:D

BTW, were you named after a beer?

I'd like something like this:

Service: Liturgical, Traditional, Contemporary, Seeker Friendly, Charismatic, Pentecostal, Evangelical, Blended Worship Style, Prayer Services, Healing Services

but church buildings and "authorities" make me gag.

Wonder if I can pull that off in my garage....hmmmm.

Well for me I just couldn't get answers to the questions that the churches i visited or was a part of. Seems to me that i am not the only one with these questions, and some people settle for the answers given, but i cannot.

I think doctrine is important, but not as important as love. I was listening to Gary Wills the other day and he spoke of the dregs of soceity of Jesus time were His friends. Seems to me that I having been a wart on the butt of the world could be a good candidate for a friend of His as well.

BTW, were you named after a beer?
Nope actually for my favorite Uncle. Don't drink, but not for rel;igious reasons, I just do not like alcohol, or being around people who drink it.

Well from this response I should fit in nice, as I have a wicked sense of humor at times. Thanks for the welcome

Mmmm, I love those kinda meals, always different. Never can be sure what to expect at any of them. Well, Uncle Bud, looks like you gonna have to go and find yerself some real live people to have a pot luck dinner with ;)

TheAJKMAn:thumbsup:;)

Bud,

If ya live in a big city you could call different churches and find out when their next pot luck supper is and bless them with your presence. If the city is big enough you could be a blessing for a long time.

Y'all,

I need a bit of advice here. I got an email from a friend I have not heard from in years. Her husband has been pastor of a few churches but he is not at this time. She asked me to pray for them to find a fellowship as they are without right now. She doesn't know I am "out", ya think I should send her a link to the "unchurched" forum?

Sure . It is alwayse great to have those in that position come to the unaffilated side . The problem is , many decide to set up their own house groups and continue the same thing in a smaller setting .

Hmmm, yes this is true, unfortunately. People who come out of organized christianity need a considerable time to get rid of a whole mentality, of the religion they have inside of them, and this often costs!

I agree . It is just that I have seen a trait in noncatholic christianity . They follow the mistake of Luther . He threw out only that which he immediately disagreed . He kept everything else . He didn't ask himself that , if these things were incorrect , why assume that everythings else was correct . I urge people to throw out *every* doctrine and ask the Lord to know what to take on for themselves .

There's a dining hall forum over at Semper Reformanda, Bud. That's as close to a cyber-buffet as I can recommend.

I believe in the Protestant doctrines of grace & election, but I have problems wth their ecclesiology, especialy in the area of church discipline.

The "Order of Service" reveals a lot of extra-biblical tradition that I can do without.
Oila! "Sans-Church"!
