Would you sacrifice your own salvation to save two people whom you don't know? Note, no matter what, if you make this sacrifice, you would end up suffering in hell, your sacrifice will not personally give you anything good in return.

What do you mean "save" two people?

No. I'm far too selfish for that...which ironically would probably have me hellbound anyway. Damned if I do, damned if I don't.

Well maybe selfishness itself isn't a sin...but what comes of it sure is.

Not saying it is. I am giving the ultimate scenario of being selfless: sacrificing all that you have gained though your own efforts so that more people can enjoy them, even though as a result you will suffer.

It's still a no. It's really hard for me to care at all about total strangers. How about this one...would you trade your place in hell for one hundred strangers in heaven? Essentially, you'd leave hell and enter heaven...but a hundred people in heaven have to take your place in hell.

Too hypothetical. God's plan of redemption doesn't allow this choice by the individual.

What I meant was that sin can be forgiven, so the result need not be as you say. Further, though sin does refer to specific actions, it is really more a state of being.

Clearly though, I don't ask for forgiveness.

It would not really be possible to sacrifice one's own salvation in order for others to benefit from it ...... they would have to accept all the teachings etc associated with salvation for themselves so that they could be saved. :)

That's kind of a complicated question. The short answer is no one to ask and I don't really think I've done wrong.

Should I assume by "no one" that you mean God (i.e. that there is no god to ask)? I would hope you don't mean you've never felt the need to apologize to people either.
