I enjoyed the black and white episodes. I watched them when I was seven and eight years old and they freaked me out. I never watched the newer episodes in color.

Rod Serling's own scripts were the best, full of depth. (Although he went waaaaay downhill, much like Orson Welles, towards the end of his career. Using his narration for b-movies and ridiculous documentaries.)
The other incredible writer, Richard Matheson scripted some brilliant work...
unfortunately Matheson was an occultist, New Ager, and I might add: possible Satanist or perhaps a Luciferian.
Look up Matheson's other work on IMDB and Wikipedia for insight into some of his incredible, yet at times spiritually questionable, work (and motives) in t.v., film, and books.
He did change our popular and now future culture also.
