The truth silences, more than it causes to speak. Dare you to reply?

If you say something to someone, and they fall silent, it isn't necessarily because you've uttered the truth.

They may just be stunned into silence by the magnitude of how wrong you are.

You presume of course that no matter how wrong it is, they will not speak (again).

But then, if something that is wrong has the power to kill, is there not a sense in which it was yet right?

What? You don't think a single angle on the truth is kind of limiting?

Come on, words are power, not simply pertinent.

But you got upset with me that time I was re-writing your posts over in that Science forum thread. Remember?

Yes, but this is Jesus we are talking about, He never gets upset.

Actually, what posts? You were completely ignoring my point?

I never said I was ignoring the point, just that I was changing it.

No. The truth is what it is.

And I'm not keen on changing the words of the Bible, either.

"Outside [the Holy City] are the dogs and sorcerers and the sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and everyone who loves and practises falsehood.... I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: if anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book, and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his share in the tree of life and in the Holy City, which are described in this book." (Rev 22: 15,18-19)

I suspect, I am very close to hitting a nerve.

How exactly do you study the word, if you do not practice changing falsehood into truth?

Do you suppose that words on a page, are more true, than the truth?
