So you don't like discussion of topics that might oppose beliefs you hold? It used to be a deep-seated belief that the world was flat and that the moon was made of cheese. I thought the point of theology, which is what this section of the forums are for, was to study such things. There is nothing wrong with re-examining our own dogmas and hearing new perspectives. Doesn't the Bible tell us to do this?

1 Thessalonians 5:21 - Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.
Isaiah 28:9&10 - Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts. For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:

You are not forced to participate in this thread if it does not interest you. But there may be those that could benefit from such discussion. If it would make you feel better I can create a new thread for this topic.

i just had to put my two cents. i hear many times when we try to be obedient to His teaching, we are being legalistic. this kind of mentality is the stem of hypocricy. Jesus is our Lord and we should do our best to follow His teaching. He is not only our Savior but also the Lord! He made very simple and clear about our responsibilities as christians in the NT, which is a lot! but He says, with His help we can do it. thanks

I agree we should follow His teachings and example.

But when I say to follow Him all the way people want to give up and only follow what they want to.

Take baptism, Christ was baptised by immersion, now who want to follow that? Then he was not a baby when He was baptised either.

This is just one of the many examples that Christ set for us and most do not want to follow them.

When we accepted Him as Lord and Savior we promissed Him to follow all the way not just take a pick kind of practice.
