Matthew 26:

62 And the high priest arose and said to Him, “Do You answer nothing? What is it these men testify against You?”

63 But Jesus kept silent. And the high priest answered and said to Him, “I put You under oath by the living God:

Tell us if You are the Christ, the Son of God!

64 Jesus said to him, “It is as you said. Nevertheless, I say to you, hereafter you will see the Son of Man

sitting at the right hand of the Power, and coming on the clouds of heaven.

65 Then the high priest tore his clothes, saying, “He has spoken blasphemy! What further need

do we have of witnesses? Look, now you have heard His blasphemy!

66 What do you think?”

They answered and said, “He is deserving of death.”

The Sanhedrin ruled Christ deserving of death for blasphemy.

In the Gospel of John, according to the ruling elders,

the blasphemy was to declare Himself the Son of God.

John 19:7 The Jews answered him, We have a law, and by our law he ought to die,

because he made himself the Son of God.

But what about the claim that they would see the Son of Man seated at the right

hand of power, and coming in clouds of glory?

Would that not have been a provocation to them?
It would seem to be on a par with:

Matthew 22:

41 While the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them,

42 saying, “What do you think about the Christ? Whose Son is He?”

They said to Him, “The Son of David.”

43 He said to them,

“How then does David in the Spirit call Him ‘Lord,’ saying:

44 ‘The Lord said to my Lord,
“Sit at My right hand,
Till I make Your enemies Your footstool” ’?

45 If David then calls Him ‘Lord,’ how is He his Son?”

46 And no one was able to answer Him a word, nor from that

day on did anyone dare question Him anymore

What exactly is it you wish to debate or discuss?

Prophesy and the covenant determined that Jesus had to die; Jesus was the Lamb of God since the foundation; Israel broke the covenant, blood had to be shed.

What about the Pharisees then? Should they have known Jesus was the Messiah? Should they have anointed Him?

Put yourself in the Pharisee's shoes, given their knowledge of scripture, why would you have accepted that Jesus was the Messiah.

Dan 9:24 seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon the holy city, to finish the transgression, and make an end to sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and and to seal up the vision and prophesy, and to anoint the most Holy.

Did Judah finish the transgression?

Did Judah make an end to sins?

Did Judah make reconciliation for iniquity?

Did Judah bring in everlasting righteousness?

Did Judah seal up the vision and prophesy?

Are these five requirements one requirement; different ways of saying the same thing for emphasis.

Was Jesus anointed, was it Mary Magdalene who did it?

Judah was still in covenant with God, all they were required do was repent and the Kingdom of God was theirs; the ten lost tribes (and the lost of Judah) required a renewed covenant.

Nothing at all. Re-read the OP, a question is proposed. You did not answer.
Prophesy and the covenant determined that Jesus had to die; Jesus was the Lamb of God since the foundation; Israel broke the covenant, blood had to be shed.
Fairly common knowledge. The verdict from the Pharisees was death because of blasphemy for claiming to be the Son of God. Did you get that? It was in the OP.
Put yourself in the Pharisee's shoes,
Why would I do that? Maybe a thread you could start?

I don't do questionnaires, and yours is off topic. Read the OP analytically and you will get it.

I'd love to respond. But requesting your own threads to be locked so people waste time reading them and can't respond has zero interest to me.

Peace and Blessings

If the thread is locked, how did you respond?
If you found reading the OP a waste of time,
why would I be interested in your reply?
