Yeah, those boys have some great stuff.

Max Kings book The Cross and the Parousia is a stout book but well worth the dig. He examines most of the "popular" views and dissects them.

He also has a great booklet that is a published debate that covers a lot of material too. The McQuiggan-King debate.

I'm all new to this stuff but find it every interesting that the Transmill view has taken it beyond 70 AD. Something that just preterism alone cannot do because it speaks of only pass fulfillment of all scripture.

I think we would rather start at the beginning "70 AD" because that is where people need to go back to in order to move on from there.

What interests me is to see where in the scripture is there a continuing of the New Covenantal applications. An example is Jesus still making war with nations who oppose Him. Does Jesus still tread the winepress and how does He deal with unrepentant sinners.

I would say that He deals with them through us if we are walking in the Spirit and not the flesh. What are you thoughts?

One thing I do not believe is in unerversal reconsillyation. That is like saying God will save those who not have faith along with those who do. Jesus even mentions separating goats from sheep in Matt.25
reconsillyation, :D that's good....

fascinating read, thanks for sharing.

What I particularly like is the part where he talks about the transmillenial fixing that "chicken little -the sky is falling-mentality that is so prevelant right now. And how this view can help us join together and really make a difference in the world for the next generation (and so on). One of the things I really hate about futurism is the "excapist" mentality. (I realize that not all futurist are like this.) Aren't we here to enjoy LIFE? To enjoy all that God has created? I want to enjoy the life God has given me, and I want my kids to enjoy the life God has given them. I want to die knowing that I impacted people in a good way, that I made a difference in this world. I want to leave this world a little better off.

I just don't think that it's healthy for the focus of a person's faith to be on Jesus' return. I think the focus of a person's faith should be to go out and "be God's hands and feet". To live life striving to be more like Jesus.

I don't know, I just don't understand the attitude. Why would anyone want to be taken from this wonderful world? I know that horrible things happen, and times can be rough, and people can be cruel; but this world is so amazing and God's creation is so awesome, and the good things that happen make it all so worthwhile. Maybe I'm just too much an optimist.....

I love your attitude, if only more people were like you they would be enjoying what God has given instead what waiting for it all to be destroyed.

Good point. Most don't realize how pivotal and decisive 70ad is and they blythly (sp?) run on by with all the blessings without a second thought as to how they got them...

I agree that we are His ambassadors and work on His behalf, often withour our consent of knowledge (the walking in the Spirit part). I just am unsure how it all works. I am not a reconstructionist since most of their thrust comes from using the Old Covenant. But still...they have a few things right.

Anyway, I too love the silly part of reconsillyation.

So have you guys given up here all together?

I posted over at NJM, but didn't get much response.

What do you think of the NHE being about the covenants, but the new creation being the transition that each of us goes through on conversion?

I am still not clear on the comprehensive grace thing, but it seems pretty alien to conversion and evangelism. Have you studied it much?

CG is a topic some agre to disagree on. I do not buy it but the people who Tran-mills do. That is what I see as the main thing that differs from maniline Preterim.

I think you have a good point about a personal transition period that would be in likeness to the transition period of the first century.

hi people .. i hope u dont mind my jumping into this post, but, a friend has introduced me to the presence teachings and, being more of a puritan mindset, this transmill stuff seems a bit messy .. at best.. lol. .. i dunno.. guess i got to do a bit more digging. .. but, i too was wondering bout the goats and sheep still in the same pen.. and, far as ive noticed, there seems to be a whole bunch of sorrow and tears .. hmm... and, ? .. isnt Jesus supposed to be here with us eternally when He returns? .. physically? .. governing all creation? .. and, hey! .. lol.. arnt all things supposed to be created anew? .. .. see! :) .. told you i was a bit confused bout all this. .. oh well... hope u folks can keep me posted as to what u discover, as well, i will be glad to share anything helpful or, even, profitable to a pilgrim along the way.
this is all quite confusing .. i was really looking forward to my new body in Christ! .. not that im complaining about the one the Lord has blessed me with, but, this one seems to be falling apart! :o
Godspeed! jef
