That wasn't there when I captured your quote. But now that you do have it there, where does it say that the first man who thanked god that he was not like the other man did it while laughing?
You claim that one cannot repent and laugh at the same time. Surely you must have a scripture to back it up.
I'll do better than that. I'll even go so far as to show you why it is
GODLY SORROW that produces TRUE repentance, a reason for why we weep:
God is, and has been, calling for a time of weeping.
The Scriptures predicts this call for the last days.
Joel 1:13
Gird yourselves, and lament, ye priests: howl, ye ministers of the altar:
come, lie all night in sackcloth, ye ministers of my God..."
Joel 2:12,13,15
"Therefore also now, saith the Lord, turn ye even to Me with all your heart,
and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning:
and rend your heart and not your garments, and turn unto the Lord your God:
for He is gracious, and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth Him of the evil...
Blow the trumpet in Zion, sanctify a fast, call a solemn assembly..."
Joel 2:17
"Let the priests, the ministers of the Lord, weep between the porch and the altar,
and let them say, Spare Thy people, O Lord, and give not Thine heritage to reproach,
that the heathen should rule over them: wherefore should they say among the people,
Where is their God?"
You may question, 'Why weep and lament?' Joel will answer this question in his book.
Sometimes we don't understand our God, and His ways.
For instance, Jesus - after what we call the "triumphal entry" on Palm Sunday,
went to a hillside near Jerusalem and wept. Others thought that the day had been triumphant,
but Jesus knew what was about to happen. He wept for the hypocrisy, for the instability of mankind,
for the soon-to-come deception, and for the betrayal by one of His disciples.
We should heed God's advice that during the last days there is supposed to
go out a call for the people to weep and lament.
The book of Joel reveals a number of reasons for the last day saints to weep.
But you tell me how you can turn away from something that you find entertaining.
Wasn't the OP enough to show you what you need to see?
Why are you still trying to have your sin, and enjoy it too?
