One things struck me as I was reading the OP. It mentions the unforgiveable sin as attributing the works of satan to those of the Holy Spirit. Is this the correct interpretation? I've never really properly understood what the unforgiveable sin is and have always been concerned that I might have comitted it without knowing it and be doomed already. Given this interpretation, it would mean I have committed this sin. As a child, I remember I used to always feel guilty unless I was studying in my time off school and I believed it was God wanting me to work hard. It was only when I got older and had contact with other Christians that I realised that it was the devil who was pushing me into striving rather than getting a true and healthy balance between work and rest. even now, I'm not always able to discern the Holy Spirit's guidance and get it wrong somrtimes.

I know it's a little off topic but can anyone shed any light on what is the correct interpretation of the unpardonable (unforgiveable) sin?

I just want to say I appreciate the pastor that wrote this article and the fact that it is posted on this forum. I continue to watch and listen and am so aware that this pastor is right on target.

I really appreciate people who are in the thick of it saying what some of us on the outside observed. Like Sharon, I went up to Toronto and didn't see any of that but I did see it some off-shoot services in other churches in the U.S. and out of my former pastor. I really appreciated my pastor barking like a dog and howling. I wanted to give him a bone to chew on to shut him up, but I looked at him and though he is so pathetic and his wife was every bit as undignified as he was. I remember sitting in the services and thinking how it didn't make any spiritual sense to have someone bark and howl like a dog.

I think there is a slight difference between undignified and barking like a dog, But what do i know, I'm a stuffy old brit.

good post Paul.Spiritual discernment all the way.The best way i can describe God and Satans power is by looking at CD's and copied CD's.God gives us the original gift but Satan makes a copy of all of them and way to tell between the two is like a copied CD.Its scratched and the quality just isnt as good!

What I cant understand is that when God gave the prophet Micah a revelation sign in owl noises that is acceptable, but some folks automatically say this must be from the devil for now? HELLO! Its in the bible! (Which is more than I can say for church buildings or vicars in batman costumes)

Well... I guess I think Micah was a one-time thing. There's a lot of things the prophets in the Bible did that I don't think we should repeat.
