Who can explain
what happens in prayer
When hearts are layed open
at our Father's throne there?
Mere man at the feet
of Jehovah the Lord
Where he cleanses our spirit
til we're in one accord.
So holy, full of light,
so righteous is he,
Yet he gives this privilege
to a worm such as me!
I'm bowed low when I first
enter that place
I feel so unworthy
to receive such rare grace,
But once there, in a moment,
an overwhelming flood
Of the Father's tender mercy
bought by Jesus' precious blood
Fills my entire being
as he lifts me to his knees....
Oh! Embraced by my dear Father
how all doubt and sorrows flee!
Thank you Lord for this place
you alone achieved to give,
How you suffered on this earth
how you died that I might live!
Lord, take my life, you own it
it's not mine to live for me,
You sought me and you bought me
for all eternity.
