The Third Crusade

I found something very interesting on Youtube, it is a documentary on the third crusade. King Richard the Lionheart of England squared off against the Muslim leader Saladin in holy war to control the holy city of Jerusalem. This is an awesome history lesson and is important to watch in order to understand current events in the middle east, the middle eastern arabs are still bitter about the crusades to this day! This video is 1hr and 30mins but is a good watch! The link to the video is below:

The Crusades are one of those historical events that live on through misunderstanding. One of the best summaries I've seen was done by Ryan Reeves and is available on YouTube.

It's too bad Emperor Frederick died in a river. There was probably a good chance if he was still alive that he and King Richard could have retaken Jerusalem. At least, I would like to think so.
