In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

At work we kept getting these enormous flies that were bothering my female coworkers, so I bought a salt-shooting bug shotgun, and an electric fly swatter. XD I'm now known as "The Terminator" at work. Haha
What on earth! :tearsofjoy: I would certainly appreciate your murderous skills! Though I can hold my own against flies. Most bugs don't spook me, but if it can bite or sting, I'm running for my life! Also centipedes... dear God, why do these nightmares exist.

Sauvage Elixer is a powerful throwback kind of fragrance I have to be very careful with my sprays on that one.
ive been rocking Mont Blanc Explorer or Light Blue Summer Vibes mostly this summer.
Yeah I work in a clinical environment so I’m only wearing one spray of Elixir and then a refresher spray at lunch. It’s so strong but amazing.

If you like throwback fragrances then Tom Ford’s Beau de Jour is a really nice fresh one that’s perfect after a shave. That’s usually my Saturday morning fragrance after a shave with some music on, nice fragrance and then a slow start to the morning with coffee.

I hate typing longer messages on my phone but here we are…

I love it when a woman smells nice. I’m a big fan of the classics, so any Chanel and I’m enamoured.

Continuing with the classic vibe, I do really like the classy vibe. Pearls are the best.

In general I like when people have their own opinion and can actually back it up beyond it being a common narrative or sound bite. I value this particularly more in women because for a long time women’s opinions weren’t as valued as they should have been, so to me this always shows a level of confidence and independence that’s attractive.

I love a strong sense of character and identity. I suppose I’ve struggled over the years and still feel like I’m discovering who I am and what I want to be when I grow up, so it’s almost a grounding effect for me.

To the mothers out there, nothing but respect. I work with all women and sadly over the years I’ve heard far more stories than I’d like about lazy husbands or partners not helping out, and seeing the stress this causes and the toll it takes. Also if you’re a Dad, please don’t say ‘babysit’ when it’s your own child!
It’s a level of inspiration I’m sad we get to see, because it’s a result of an unfortunate necessity in most cases, but how some mothers cope I will never know, but salute all the same.

I must admit I do tend to prefer the ‘girly’ girls. I don’t know why.

I’m tired and lose track of what I’ve said when typing on a phone so I’ll revisit tomorrow to add more.

Blonde hair, blue eyes, fair skin.. just light features in general.

Highly neotenous facial features.. especially big expressive eyes.

To massively highlight the above features and to wrap it all up in a pretty bow, a woman who's in her early 20s.

All these traits I view as the perfect muse for a romantic sadomasochistic mindset. Although I suspect these traits translate equally well for men who have different romantic psychological tastes. Interesting to think about really.

The "Verminator" would have been more appropriate. ^_^

(also, that was an obscure Married With Children reference)

These flies were HUGE. I"ve never seen them that big before, and we were getting like 8 a day. It was weird. And the Doc, who is no "delicate, scared" type woman, kept coming out of her office and asking for my help. I tried traps first, but we were all out of stock on the salesfloor, so I went the less professional, but definitely more fun approach XD

Same, I work in a clinical environment, so I gotta be careful about what and how much I wear.

I'll have to check those out. And we've had in the past, threads for this kind of stuff, but we need another one-- something for hair, fragrance, fashion, barbershop stuff.
The "Verminator" would have been more appropriate. ^_^

Haha, nice reference. But unfortunately, "vermin" would include many of my patients XD

I like women who aren't feminists. Really might be a baseline requirement in order for a woman to actually love and respect man.

Although it depends on the reason, they're not a feminist. Even that... a small slice seems to not be feminists for the right reasons. When you do find one, they are extra special because of it though.

I'm not really attracted to these women.. but the Honey badger podcasts features some pretty self-aware women when it comes to gender issues. Tough free thinkers too.

I hope it's not cheating.. lol.

But while I prefer women who look really feminine on the outside, I like women who think more like men on the inside.

I love it when a woman smells nice. I’m a big fan of the classics, so any Chanel and I’m enamoured.

My mother had Chanel No. 5 and I loved it. I got my first bottle of perfume as a Christmas gift. I asked my grandmother for it and started poking through her collection. She said it was too old for me (she loved Estee Lauder) and said she'd get me something more appropriate. I was curious about the things ladies used. It was mysterious and smelled nice and they indulged me.

Continuing with the classic vibe, I do really like the classy vibe. Pearls are the best.

So do I. I appreciate the grace and subtlety. Everything is in your face or attention grabbing. I prefer something beautiful and timeless.

To the mothers out there, nothing but respect. I work with all women and sadly over the years I’ve heard far more stories than I’d like about lazy husbands or partners not helping out, and seeing the stress this causes and the toll it takes.

I grew up in a traditional family. The men weren't housekeepers but they did other tasks the women valued. I never heard them complain and they worked too. We have significantly more expectations of our companions than previous generations. But we also have more conveniences too. I won't say its right or wrong but I wouldn't die on that hill.

I must admit I do tend to prefer the ‘girly’ girls. I don’t know why.

Femininity is trendy now. The soft life and similar ideals are popular themes on social media. This is a period when you can nurture your inner princess and no one thinks its odd. I don't if it will last but its a nice change of pace.

When a man wraps you in his arms, and your head fits just so against his chest, and he rests his chin on your head, and you feel completely enveloped and sheltered from the world and all The Bad Things in it. 'Tis one of the greatest feelings in all the world.

Been engrossed in the kinds of old-school romance novels that my grandmother was always checking out at the library when I was little, lately, Miss Geek? ^_^

(just teasin' )

I had noticed the difference in the way my lab area (and especially the area just next door considering what the two techs who work in there are always having to work with - dimethyl disulfide being among them, ick) smelled ever since my current coworker Mary came onto my crew about a year ago. Definitely for the better, considering the perfume she always wears. ^-^

When I inquired as innocently as I could as to what the source of this most pleasant scent was, she responded that it was Billie Eilish brand.
Well, for someone who always looks so gloomy and/or annoyed in her pictures, Miss Eilish does at least know what brands of perfume she should be backing. ^_^

Not at all! I despise such novels, lol.

Now, where's a tall guy to give me a hug?

I was trying to think of what qualities I find most appealing in a guy, and I realized that I think for me that has changed over time. I would say that currently I would be most drawn to someone who was intelligent and enjoyed conversing on topics that are meaningful. I don't mean intelligent in an academic sort of way (necessarily). More someone who was philosophical and liked to think about deeper things. I hesitate to use the word attractive here; I would say more that it is refreshing and something that catches my attention. It's really nice to see a guy who really is passionate about his faith and is well versed. I'm immediately interested in someone like that. I actually think that kind of personality is magnetic. Also, I really like guys who have common sense and are confident (not arrogant). It's really nice to see guys who are secure in their own beliefs/opinions and don't get rattled by others who disagree or by a woman who has strong opinions. I think that's a very appealing combination.

I don't read the Harlequin stuff. But I love classics and historical novels or ones with themes like the Amish. The storylines are richer and usually more wholesome than the norm. Amish tales typically feature challenges and they're rich in Christian principles. Especially redemption. Historical novels focus on character, growth and maturity. Both emphasize nostalgia.

Unlike most variations within the genre the pair frequently nurture positive results. People who read Amish books are usually more attuned to modesty, simplicity and community. There's no flash involved. While creative pursuits are a common response to historical reads. Many begin watching period films, take up sewing and related crafts, attend events, or explore reenactment and bring the characters to life.

While the majority foster escape and comparison there's a happy medium with the two. I still like Darcy! But I like him for the reasons the message imparts.

I'm very partial to Jane Austen and particularly Pride and Prejudice :) I think I read that book 4-5 times, haha. I like Victorian novels and romances in general best. I see that LastGeek has a line from Jane Eyre in her signature. I liked all the Bronte novels too. I don't mean to totally derail this thread though with discussions about novels. I saw you mentioned Darcy though and I couldn't resist.

Another Janeite! God is good. :)

Pride and Prejudice is my favorite too. Ditto on Victorian novels and romances. Love the Brontes.

Sis, is that you? :hoho:

Haha. I think we need a ladies corner now to discuss these great romances. I also liked George Elliott and Elizabeth Gaskell. North and South by Gaskell is a really nice story :)
