Hi.

I was wondering. Do you think that the elect [ie Christians/believers in Christ] shall be protected from the judgment of God during the Great Tribulation? I know the Christians at that time shall suffer persecution and beheading from the beast, but shall they face the torment and horror of the judgments, or shall God protect them from his wrath [not necessarily a reapture btw.]?

i believe the answer to your question lies in psalms. study davis and his warfare. god directed him where to stand and all around him many fell. the answer is that yes i believe god will supernaturally protect but only those hearing the voice of the spirit telling them how to prepare what to do to prepare and where to stand (stay) or move. i believe if david had been one step off of where god directed he would have been killed. the key is communication and knowing the voice of the spirit. as jesus said my sheep know my voice.

Bill is essentially correct. The faithful churches to God will indeed be sparred the firery testing of Satan during the tribulation and will be kept "out" from "within".

However, this is not so with the compromising churches and dead churches. This is what the seven letters to the churches are about...spiritual types of churches thru the church age.

There is a difference between the great tribulation and the wrath of God. Let's look at some scriptures on the wrath of God:

1 Thessalonians 1:10And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come

1 Thessalonians 5:9For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,

Romans 5:9Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.

Romans 9:22-2322 What if God, willing to show his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction:
23 And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory,

In Rev 14, we read that the Son of man reaps the earth (rapture), then we read that the rest of the earth is thrown into the great winepress of the wrath of God. Next, in Rev 15, we read that there are "7 angels having the seven last plagues; for in them is filled up the wrath of God. In verse 4, we learn that the Lord's judgments are made manifest. Continuing into chapter 16, the 7 angels are told to "pour out the vials of the wrath of God upon the earth". After 3 angels pour out their vials, an angel pronounces that the Lord's judgments are true and righteous. Then the next 4 angels pour out their vials.

Scripture (Rev 14-16) shows us being reaped just prior to the wrath of God being poured out. The other scriptures I cited above confirm this. So to answer your question, yes Christians are protected during God's judgment (wrath), however the wrath is not the same as the Great tribulation that will occur. Are we protected during the Great tribulation? Our souls are. Remember that the apostles rejoiced :) that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name. (Acts 5:41) The Lord said that in the world we will have tribulation, but be of good cheer :) , I have overcome the world. (John 16:33) Paul also states, I am exceeding joyful :) in all our tribulation (2 Cor 7:4).

Yes, I certainly do!! Psalm 91 is a perfect prayer of David that the Lord showed me quite awhile back for this very thing that is coming. He also gave me these scriptures when I was questioning the tribulation period, and what will happen to us:Isaiah 26:20-21 ~ Come, my people, enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy doors about thee: HIDE THYSELF as it were for a little moment, until the indignation be overpast.
21 For, behold, the LORD cometh out of his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity: the earth also shall disclose her blood, and shall no more cover her slain.
The way that we hide ourselves, is in His Spirit. It is called "the secret place" in Psalm 91.

hello,
Whether you believe that the rapture happens before the trib. or not, there will still be christians during the trib. So my answer to your question is yes. The trib. is where God pours out his wrath on earth. Like quoted earlier 1 Thess. 5:9 tells us we (elect) are not appointed to wrath. I will give you few examples.
lets look at the israelites in Egypt when God was pouring out his wrath with the 10 plagues. All of Israel was miraculously protected through every plague. Lets go to Sodom and Gomorrah. God took out lot and His wife before HE distroyed the city, mind He didnt take Him out of the world, but protected him from his wrath, and the last one I will mention is Noah. God protected Noah and his family, the only righteous people on the earth at the time.
So He will protect us from His wrath on the world, but as you said not from the persecution from man. Many christians will die during this time from persecution

Revelation 12:11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

Ever since the cross, martyrs for Christ have been killed in every generation. In the last days though:

Revelation 11:7 And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them.

Revelation 13:7 And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.

Daniel 7:21 I beheld, and the same horn made war with the saints, and prevailed against them;

This is a time of very Great Tribulation for the saints of God. But we know:

Romans 8:35-39 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 36 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. 37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. 38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

So arm yourself with this attitude and if we are not spared the Great Tribulation and the war of the Beast against the Saints of God, we can rest in His assurance.

Blessings,

Dad Ernie
