In a city where the struggle to reach the top is constant and ruthless, corruption runs deep. The overwhelming majority of those who seek power in the world's largest city won't think twice about taking someone out from behind if he or she is in their way. The overhwleming majority of those who seek power here are thugs. They are bullies, crooks, murderers who lust to become most wealthy, most desirable, and most powerful.

That is why the servants of men in this city who want to serve someone of character, one who has the gumption to do the right thing for a change, have to pick carefully. If they're careless, they can end up under a drug dealer, or a dirty politician, who looks slick on the outside, but in reality couldn't be blacker. And then how would a good servant define his or her life- through a crook? No, if a servant's character depends upon who they serve just as much as how he serves, a servant has got to find the straight arrow, a needle in a bale of hay, the good guy. That's why a lot of the good folks in town work under Mr. Wilson.

This Mr. Wilson is head of the bigtime corporation Wilson Industries, several law firms, a few schoolboards, and gosh knows what else. He's a sharp needle, this one, because he knows business and politics and how to use them. The best part about him is that he uses them for what they ought to be used for- for the good of the citizens. Take the time when a huge piece of the low income real estate pie was being sold off piece by piece to build shopping malls and business offices because God knows we need a few hundred more in this city. Mr. Wilson bought every last piece, and didn't tare anything down- matter of fact he fixed a few things up around there. Built a few parks and the like.

Anyway, Mr. Wilson is one of the good guys in the town. A lot of people want to see him be mayor so that he can clean things up. Rumor has it that he'll run for it too in this year's election against Mayor Mackey. Funny thing about that is that no one anyone knows has seen his face- just heard his voice. It's a gentle voice, kinda like what you'd expect an old grandpa to sound like. I guess appearances don't much matter to the people he's helped- and there are a lot of them.

Appearances definitely don't matter to the crooks in town. Those rumors about Mr. Wilson running for mayor have got a lot of bad people really nervous these days, and it's common knowledge that Mackey and a few others like him or worse want Mr. Wilson dead. It's because of this negative attention that, about a year ago (some people think that's when he started thinking about running for office), Mr. Wilson got himself some protection.

These men and women are the servants of this city who want to serve someone with strong moral fiber, who will do something for this city. In the inner circles of the elite and on the mouths of Mr. Wilson's friends, they are called The Subordinates. They yield from all different kinds of fields: medicine, politics, business, entertainment, the press, amongst others. Everyone who knows these guys and gals also knows that none of them are bad in a fight. But most important of all their qualities is loyalty. Each one couldn't be more loyal to Mr. Wilson and his cause. For that reason, they are his most trusted pals, his stong arm, his go-to people. They're The Subordinates, and they live to serve.
