I'm calling this a story but you can call it a parable but most of the biblical parables don't have an ending and this one does.
My daughter has wanted a horse for many years so after much personal debate I purchase a horse for her on her 13th birthday. She was very grateful and to show appreciation she never left my side and showered me with praise and spend the next few months spreading the good news to all she met about how great her father was for getting her the horse. During all this time she never cared for the horse and the horse perished. And the father never got what he wanted in return for giving his child this gift which was to see his daughter smiles as she rode the and cared for the horse. To end this story the father was sad that this gift to his daughter was wasted he had no use for his own perished. The smile in his daughter's heart and on her face would have done more than a life time of praise. That was the thank you the Father was hoping for. God does get mad when we waste his gift of this life.
Love All, Fear Not, Waste Not. Thanks Mom and Dad
