the newer ones. not the Star Ocean 2nd story [for PS1]. looking for people's opinions on the ones from "till the end of time' and onwards. Mainly because i'm thinkin' of buying a couple of the newer titles.

My wife and I both loved "Till the end of time" Lots of game play, excellent reply value. Invest in a second hand strategy guide to master the invention system and decide what characters to take since there are two spots but 4 possibilities after the mandatory characters for your party. The battle tropthy achievements are pretty neat. And like all their stuff tri-ace put after game dungeons where you can fight characters from Valkyrie profile.

A really good game. I still won't delete the info from the memory card it is on in case I want to play again (the battle trophies stay), even though it has been a few years since I played last.

Once you get to the 'nut crushing' twist in TTEOT, all of the others will take on a much different view. I'm currently playing though the most recent release (the first one time line wise), and they definitely have a weird theme going on with the 'youngest' (appearance based) character's relationship going on.

As to the kick between the legs pot twist, if you think you are safe because you are female, you will be temporarily turned male for that time, so you still get to feel the full effect.

I believe that every entry in the series is worth playing (with the exception of the GBC one).

As far as Star Trek goes, I must disagree with the assertion that it is a rip off. Sure, it might be very similar, but there definitely was not an intent to steal from Star Trek. I would say that it is more of an ultimate Star Trek Fanboy's homage to the series. All the way down to Edge exclaiming "Engage" in SO4.

Is there any Faize-Lymel (sp?) like relationship in Star Trek. Which brings me to a new question, what do people here think of the Faize-Lymel thing? Innocent brotherly love? I gotta say the kiss scene caught me by surpise more than any other trivial-in-relation-to-the-main-story scene in a game.

Well... There is this one scene with Data and some kid on some planet... but it isnt quite the same.

And uhhh... I dont like putting too much thought in to that TBH. I just think that whole thing was something which doesnt really work well in western culture.

Tho... Faize does seem to have some sorta thing for the bunny rancher chik, so... meh who knows.
