  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I thought this section needed one. Ever have a real short story or even a quick idea and jotted it down to share with people?

Such as:

You think: "whatever floats your boat?"... :confused: hey!... "whatever floats your goat!" Oh I'm so witty! :clap: I have to share this with someone. But wait... :sigh: it is hardly worthy enough to start a new thread...

Problem solved.

Put whatever short poems/snippits/story ideas/creative points down on this thread for the general populace.

(P.S. Creepy -> :kiss: )

something short and probably boring...

Aristotle would be abhorred if he knew me. I have cultivated this cool calm about me. Years of perfecting such detached apathy it's a wonder I'm still referred to as human. Maybe I'm not really human after all. I am untouched by words of mercy, pleas for help, or actions of love. I have built walls around my heart so thick the strongest blow would hardly dent them. I am untouchable.

A soft sob behind me drew my attention and I turned back to look down at the girl that knelt at my feet. I don't know her name or her problem and I don't care. She flinches under my gaze and lowers her head to avoid meeting my eyes. Her voice, soft and pleading, attempts to breach the walls I've built. "Please? I have no where else to go."

I looked beyond her to the door, hinting to my faithful servant that I want the girl removed from my presence. The servant moved forward quickly and bent to the girl. "The master doesn't have time for your petty troubles, girl."

The girl had allowed the servant to help her to her feet but, at his words, she wrenched her arm from him, fire flashing in her eyes. I had to admire her spirit. "My petty troubles? You know nothing of my troubles."

However valid her point was she was infringing on my domain. She turned to me sharply, her fist raised. "You'll regret the life you've led if you keep this up. You'll lie on your death bed looking back at your miserable life and you'll regret your coldness."

The servant managed to drag her out of the chamber and I was left with a distinctly chilled feeling. That was new and I didn't like it. Perhaps she was right. With a shake of my head I push it aside and returned to my work. Perhaps I'll think about it later or maybe I'll forget it.

I was out for my lunch break and as I drove towards town I turned on the AM news on the radio. The latest report was that a man , or rather a human cockroach, had just been convicted of molesting a four year old girl. The report stated that he was given a thirty year sentence for abducting and beating the little girl unconscience. Then after throwing her body over a wall he continued raping her unconscience, lifeless body. I thought the sentence was weak. I turned the radion off in disgust and headed into my favorite taco stand. Ordering the usual as I came outside to eat at one of the umbrella tables, I noticed a homeless women across the parking lot.
She was walking slowly across the parking lot in my direction. With something of a limp and a beaten down look; her face was crooked and bent and immediately I thought of someone who had survived the horrors of this world. The news report I had just heard came to mind and made me wonder if something like that had happened to tramatize this person in her past? Something like that would make life hard to stomach for anyone.
After throwing out her empty drink cup, she went on in to the taco joint. In a moment she was back outside with another big drink. I thought she must really like those. She made her way behind the table I was at, over to the curb and sat there. Lit a smoke and proceeded to sit unobtrusively. I kept wondering if I should offer her my last dollar, since I had already had a burrito and all she had was a coke. But the smokes she had cost more than my whole lunch. After I tossed my trash, I passed her on the way to my car repressing the urge to ask if that soda was all she was having for lunch. Curiosity had me looking at her and her defensive eyes would lock on mine with a message of warning.The look that said, " Stay back or I'll hurt you bad". Apparently expecting hawks and glares wherever she went, she busted me every time I looked, or so it seemed. My lunch hour over, I drove back to work wondering if I would feel guilty or not that I still had a dollar in my pocket.

Justina was one of the two glories of the noble family of the Falconites,the other being her aunt,Morbidita. Her father,Charisdunda and her mother,Ritamortis,were a devout couple of great wealth who had built at their cost the magnificent cemetary called Falcon's Rest.
