My son-in-law is there already courtesy of the US Air Force. He was really hoping he would get the German short term assignment. For some reason he thought going to Germany and having a chance to see his brother sound more interesting than the inauguration. Can't imagine why that would be. (Actually I do know why)

Is anyone else predicting that Obama's inauguration will resemble an egoistical worship service where his followers basically slobber over every empty promise, telepromter-guided word, and disastrous plan he has in store?

He has eight people scheduled to talk about how he's made their lives better... I'm guessing that's a given.

Interesting parallels there. FDR was reelected although he botched the economic recovery. It finally took a war to rescue FDR's failed approach, and Obama seems desperate to find a good war. Perhaps Obama thinks a good war will save his legacy

Somehow this makes it more "scary looking" so they don't like them. Meanwhile, outside of simple ergonomics, it changes nothing...people claim it can increase firing rates, but that's not proven, as speed shooters can fire more rounds without it.

I guess somehow, it turns an AR-15 all evil and stuff, whereas a Ruger Mini-14 isn't.
