CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The truth is, I did not vote, but if I did, I would surprise most by NOT voting for the last one. The reckoning of ourselves as dead to sin and alive unto God is a critical step, no doubt, but I could not agree with the second part...simply leaving it all up to God after that. It is not scriptural. This reckoning is but the first step in a war with satan, called the good fight of faith. He will come and try with all His might to pry those words out of our mouths and our hearts. We have a path of yieldedness and obedience ahead of us, copperating with the spirit inside us, being changed into His likeness from glory to glory.YES LOL ! but do press option 6 for me !
I would vote for numbers one and two. Both are accurate.

~ The either/or sort of option of this poll is a bit problematic. I would say that I agree with ALL of them and can find Scripture to back them ALL up.
~ It might make it a little easier (but food for another debate/discussion/argument thread) if one discerned what part of the individual was doing the sinning? Spirit? Soul? Flesh?
~ As far as I read scripture, the one SIN that condems one to hell is the rejection of Christ. That is a sin of the spirit for sure!
~ There are however sins of the soul and flesh. That is why one must bring our thoughts (soul) into submission to our spirit, and in some form or another (fasting is a good start) bring the flesh into submission as well.
~ An individual who declares they are a homosexual or a drunk, CANNOT be Christian. A Christians identity is in Christ. Christians are made (our spirits) righteous by the blood of Christ. Christians are made totally new at the point of receiving salvation.
~ However, a Christian whose identity is Christ, can get sidetracked and allow the flesh or soul to miss the mark (sin). Thus a Christian can do things that are horrible sin, and it will affect the soul and body but not the Spirit.
~ Sexual immorality is a bit more complicated I think but that does not change the general point I am trying to make.
~ Continue to discuss amongst youselves...
