I realize that most the games discussed here right now aren't computer games, but I'm changing that! :p

Anyone else excited about The Sims2? Does anyone know exactly when its coming out? I love The Sims so I'm very very excited about the second one!

What about this, I have a newer computer, but I really don't think it can handle two versions of the Sims on it, so what do I do? Do I buy the new one and delete the new one off my computer or do I not get the new one? I'm so confused!

I'm VERY excited about it. Excited enough to have lost interest for any other computer game.

No kidding, if they manage to make it so that the sims lives mean something to them (make it looks like it matters, not like they're completely oblivious to everything) it could be the greatest game ever. Having them age and die is also a nice addition, which will add some time constraints (though optional), and have us thinking how sims will spend their time, much like in real life.

The original Sims had some objects of religious significance (menorah, christmas tree) and many religious items (wall crucifixes, statues, etc) were created by players. But I'd actually like to see religion implemented on the game, not just in objects but directly affecting their lives. Sure, this certainly won't be in the release version. But what would you think of a "Religions" expansion pack?

Aw, it would not be wrong...

I mean, it is supposed to be a simulation of life. Religion plays (or can play) a big role in someone's life.

I don't think it would be morally wrong at all to have different religions in the game (no little "joke" or funny easter egg in any of them, though; that would be offensive) and possibly play as a, let's say, muslim family.

The Sims is basically a story-telling game. What you do there is make a story with fictional characters with a set of rules, all in a neat 3D and with AI.
Just like writing a story about a muslim family, which is not immoral at all (I think everyone agrees with this), making such a story using the Sims tool also isn't.

My wife plays the Sims when she can, though she hasn't shown much interest in Sims2. She seems to be more interested in ZooTycoon2 after I showed her some screenshots from a magazine I have. Me personally, the Sims never held my interest. However, the game play vids for the game, Battle for Middle Earth, left me drooling. ^_^

In regards to religion in Sims2... The devs thought it fit to include homosexual marriages and couples in the game. I feel the devs should include religion as well, given the importance it holds in our lives.

Hi all. .. first post on these forums ..

I would just like to say I will never buy another product produced by EA (Electronic Arts)
They cancelled Earth and Beyond prematurely and hardly supported it when it was up and running, best game I have played in a long time.

just my .02 cents.
I agree. EA is a trashy company who doesn't care about it's buyers. They recently raised the price of UO from 9.99 to 12.99 because they said it was for support. Their idea of support: A cordless phone sitting in a closet is some offset room at the other end of the building where only the gnomes go.

the games`s goal is to get Laid, so does this short description tell you something... Taste of the Future`s Games

Oh. :| I'll just stick with Sims, then, since it's not centered around sex.
