  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Does anyone here play "The Sims 2" for the computer? I was wondering because I want to buy it, but my parents don't want me having it if you have to change your Sims underwear everyday, and I don't blame them! But I was wondering about it, because I REALLY want it!!! Also, what's up with the whole 'woo-hoo' thing, if someone can PM me to explain the 'woo-hoo' thing...I would HIGHLY appreciate it if someone could answer these questions ASAP, if you know anything about it that is...Thanks (if anyone answers)

.........and forgive me if I am wrong (anyone), but I believe the game does not allow intercourse or "woo-hoo" unless a man and woman are actually married in the game. Can anyone else validate this or not?

Either way, I dont think it allows homosexual relations or unwed relations. Nor does the game allow abnormal relations between adults and children.

It does allow a lot of hanky panky, but not as meaningful as reality actually is. All in all, a much cleaner and fun game to play than themes involved with a lot of other games. Sims is basically a real time strategy game for the virtual lives of your created beings. Albiet you do get to play God, no real beings actually do die. LOL

Actually you are allowed to have sex with anyone you are in love with. Male, female, family, married, unmarried.

The game does allow homosexual relations and unwed relations. It does NOT allow adults and children however you can edit the game so that teens can have sex with each other and with adults.

Thanks Steezie for the clarification. I think what I meant was "woo hoo" in the game. I know it is possible in the game for any characters to have feelings for one another and act out in certain ways. I have to admit, I don't play the game to see how the sims relationships go as long as they get along, but I love building them neat houses with lots of stuff and throw parties to see what they all do in one big room!

You can also resurrect people in the game if you pay the grim reaper, which I thought was kinda wierd.
If you don't pay him much they come back, but with some defects.

The one thing you have to keep in mind, is that they won't just go and "woo-hoo" on their own or start pursuing a relationship with someone of the same gender or in their own family. You make the decisions for them. The AI only provides for their essential needs. You shape the relationships and therefore you determine how much of the unpleasant stuff is in the game. And no, you don't change their underwear every day. Heck, you only change their clothes between bed, home, and work, and it's always the same three outfits.

Actually it depends.

I have my game edited so that the Sims can do whatever they want whenever they want.

Sims definately develop thier own personalities over time. Ive tested it

That's if you have your game edited. That's not what happens out of the box, though.

Really???

Wow I have never done that before. How do you do it? That sounds so cool. I lost my fave Sim in a kitchen fire (I didnt buy the fire alarm and paid the price) and would love to get her back.
Yes, I have brought several of mine back. Under career rewards there is something called a "Resurrect-o-Nomitron" which is a reward for the paranormal career track. If you get that you can have one of your sims who knew the person who died to call the grim reaper with it and pay him to bring the person back. I think you can pay up to $5,000. If you only pay a little they come back, but they aren't completely normal. If you pay the whole fee then they are as good as new. Usually, if they were an elder or an adult then that is the age they come back as.

You can set your autonomy and free will high

I usually do, and I don't recall them pushing relationships on to further levels without my influence. Maybe I'm wrong, but I doubt it happens often, and if you put enough effort in, they'll probably only go for the people you intend anyway.
